...Need help wiring up SPEEDPRO...
Well Im new at this stand alone thing and i was wondering if anyone out there can help me out and take a little time out of their busy lives to assist me with wiring up my Speedpro (FAST) bank to bank. I have a 96 civic (OBDII) and the Speedpro wiring is lacking some stuff I need to make my car run and I wanted to know if anyone can guide me wire to wire and where they went to get everything together. I already did a search and I couldnt find anything and Im too broke to pay someone to wire it up. Well here are the stuff I need to wire up that's missing from the harness...
1. V-tec
2. V-tec oil pressure sensor
3. Speedometer sensor (for gauge cluster)
4. Alternator
5. Starter
6. Fuel pump
7. Radiator Fan
8. Coolant Temp. (for gauge cluster)
9. And cannot forget the A/C!
If anyone can put time on this and help a guy in need, I would appreciate that very much and if im missing something out, please feel free to shout it out. Im trying to get my car running by next weekend and this is the only thing that's holding me down. My car has been down since March 15th, been in the garage for 6 months now and it needs to come back to life. Well thanx in advance for those that can help me out with this. Peace out.

Contact my buddy Jack at sales@racetronix.com he is a SpeedPro distributer and knows everything possible with them. He could build you a plug and play wiring harness and get you on your way. Tell him Mike Ricketts sent ya.
He also sells Walbro 255 intank pumps for 99U.S all the time without group buys. Check out his webpage at http://www.racetronix.com

thanx for the help guys, the archives didnt help me much... anyone else? And also, i kinda wanted to learn how to wire it up thats why im not looking to buy a plug and play harness, but thanx anyways. would it be easier to run my factory ecu along with the speed pro ecu and just cut out the stuff that i dont need from my old harness? I kinda dont want to go that route because its kinda ghetto. I checked the website and it doesnt help also, anyone else got any info on this??

1. V-tec
im not 100% sure but i dont think speedpro has a vtec option in the program itself... one way u can do it is with a rpm activated switch
2. V-tec oil pressure sensor
u dont need this with a standalone
3. Speedometer sensor (for gauge cluster)
there are 3 wires going to the VSS... those need to stay intact for the speedometer to work... everything else can go (other than possibly other stock functions/reqading u want to keep with the car... oh... and an ecu is NOT needed
4. Alternator
well obviously u need the one power wire... and depending what u need inside the car again... u will need to look in the schematics as to which wires u will need off of the green plug (or for some newer cars black plug)
5. Starter
r u using a switchpanel? all this stuff can be wired by7 itself using a switchpanel... as for the speedpro... there is an output for a starter signal... thats what u use
6. Fuel pump
)same as above)
7. Radiator Fan
im not sure on this one with the speedro... i dont want to give out wrong info
8. Coolant Temp. (for gauge cluster)
same way as u would do it for the speed sensor... u need to keep the wire that goes to the temp sensor on the head
9. And cannot forget the A/C!
ummmmm...
all u need is the new WD60 a/c sytem... its compatibale with any motor and weights nothing
if u need any help u can pm me as well

Wow, thanx alot man, I really appreciate you helping me with this one. Im not using a switchpanel, my car is stock body with everything from factory. the only thing that i dont see is the starter signal from the speedpro, would u happen to know which one that is? I looked in the speedpro wiring diagram and i didnt see it there (page 8). http://www.fuelairspark.com/Download...ion_manual.pdf
If i need anymore help, i think im gonna take your offer on that, thanx once again.

For the fuel pump you'll have to run a standard 30 amp automotive relay that you can pick up at any local radio shack.
For the radiator fan, you can tap into the stock relay in the fuse box under the hood.
For the starter you can just keep your stock wiring to the starter. It only needs the main power, ground, and the signal to the solenoid.
If you have the honda harness, there should be a purple wire attached to the wiring harness that will plug into the vtec solenoid on the motor. You will have to wire this wire into an MSD RPM activated swtich since the Speedpro doesn't have an output to engage vtec.
Not sure how you're gonna get the A/C to work since i ripped mine out
I still have my stock wiring harness in the engine bay for the alternator, but it's only 4 wires that you have to isolate and remove. I'm lazy so i just left it in there for the time being.
This is very important, make sure you use a very good 12v power source to tap into power for the main power wire going to the SpeedPro ECU. I also had to wire in a MSD 6AL for the ignition since the SpeedPro uses a points signal for the ignition.
To make things a hell of a lot easier, i made a switchpanel to power everything with standard 12v switches. I have a switch for fuel, ignition, ECU power, and then a main power switch as a safety/kill switch. You can make all this from a local auto parts store and it will save you a lot of wiring troubles.
Do you have the honda wiring harness or are you doing all this from scratch?
I just finished doing a lot of maintenance work on my car, so i'm too tired to remember the specific wire colors for the relays. But if you want, i can PM you my number and i'll talk you through it.

Once again, thanx alot guys. I kinda have an idea of how im going to add wires to the speedpro harness. I have a 96 civic, and there's a big clip on the driver side that controls most of the sensors that goes to the gauge clusters except for the fuel gauge. im just gonna cut my old one up and add it to the speedpro. that should take care of everything except for the v-tec which im gonna run with the NOS clip (just tap into the wire that activates it and set it on certain rpm in the programs for NOS), starter (power & ground and signal that goes to the clutch pedal), fuel pump (run a 30 amp relay) and fan (tap into the negative on the fan relay), those shouldnt be that hard. The only thing im gonna get stuck on is A/C. Ill figure that out when my car actually runs. If im missing something out or u see something wrong with this, please let me know. Thanx again for those who helped me.
Alex, I got ur number from David, Ill call u if i get stuck on something, ill be at the shop everyday after 5 if u want to stop by and chit-chat.

Basically, he'll add about 5-6 sensors that Speedpro doesnt have on the harness that you will need to run like factory, like gauge clusters and other stuff. I will be hacking my old harness and adding some on the speedpro, i will let yall know how it goes.

Hey guys, im stuck on the VSS (speed sensor) where do i run those 3 wires, black... black w/yellow... and blue w/white? The blue w/white went to the stock ECU, but i dont have that anymore, so where do i run that? Also where do i run the 2 black wires? I have a 96 civic, OBDII and im trying to make my gauge cluster work for the speedometer. Thanx in advance to those that helps me with this last one. Peace.
It will be really easy if you just take your stock harness and cut out all of the stuff you don't need and tape it all back up. Thats what I did on my integra. With the ac, you have to find the wire from the dash that sends out the signal to the ac clutch should be a ground and wire a relay into that to trigger the clutch (needs 12v. I believe). Not too hard. You can give me a call at the shop if you have any questions.
Thanx Tony, Yea thats what i did, i hacked up my old harness, took out the stuff that i didnt need and re-pinned it to one clip that goes to the driver side, all that I listed is now on that one big clip. But now Im stuck on the VSS because one of the 3 wires traces back to the ECU. i have no idea what to do with that one. This is kinda hard for me because im also color blind! Well if i still dont have it figured out by next week, I wll give yall a hollar. IF anyone else can help me out there with the VSS, help a brotha' out. Peace.
I'll call Alex or Jotech Monday, didnt want to bother them cause didnt want to get in a way with their work.

If i remember right, the VSS has 3 wires: 12v power, ground, and a signal wire. That signal wire should be blue/white and runs to the speedo in the gauge cluster. I know that signal wire runs to the ECU but you don't need the ECU for the VSS to function. I still have my stock wiring harness hacked up to run the VSS, alternator, and radiator fan. I'm pretty sure the signal wire on the VSS also runs to a connector on the drivers side up by the brake booster. From there it should run to the inside of the car and to the gauge cluster. Let me know if you need anymore help. It's late right now and i've been working all day, so my thoughts are kinda jumbled up at the moment

Thank you sir, thats the answer i was looking for
That signal wire doesnt go through the firewall, by the break booster, it goes to the ECU and from the ECU, straight to the gauge cluster, thats where i was having problem at cause i thought the ECU controls the speedometer. Now, i will re-pin it to the big connector by the brake booster and just tap a wire that comes from the gauge cluster and connect it to the clip. I think this solves all my wiring problem and everything should be ready to go. Thanx alot from taking a little bit out of your time. Peace
