Need help with T3 specs
okay, my situation is like this. Turboeg and I put together a custom bolt-on setup for my DA, so far we have;
b18 stock
SFP manny
Spearco chiller core is 20.5x3.5x8 and the end tanks 2.25 in 2.5 out
t3 super 60 turbo
tial 35 mm
2.5 upper ic with blitz bov, 2.25 comp to cooler
inline with 12:1>temp solution for fuel>>>>the standalone> DFI with 450's is soon to be installed
2.5 mandrel dp to 3" to apexi n1
plus more **** too, but not pertaining
the reason why i went with a t3 is because my t3/to4e wouldnt fit with the block and SFP manny....we didnt want to cut the block, or lose the full double wide DA radiator, so we had a t3 super 60 laying around and put that on, obvioulsy to get the car running and not off the street for any longer(daily) i was kind of pissed....to lose my new t3/to4e for a used t3....now i am more pissed off now only to find my seals are going in the t3
i am about ready to kill this setup and get my cx back from somewhere,i dont know, but finally my point is, if i have one, what t3 specs should i run with?
i want to keep my bottom end stock (moving and college)and try to make as much power as i can for a street setup...the car is an ls loaded, leather, a real ******* pig. damn i miss my cx. so i plan to run the dfi with my setup probably around 15 psi tuned max, which will top the turbos efficenticy range, i know,
but any advice on specs and wheels( in order to make the most power obvioulsy with stock block)..........is appreciated, for those who reply.
bascially i need more power and cant move onto t3t4or bigger due to the fact that my ic pipes and manny is fitted for the physical size of my t3, will not refigure cos i am moving to tahoe, where i will be dropping off of big ******* cliffs into powder and try to forget how my cx was stolen and how i got into this mess of an ls.....balhhhhhhhhh
who makes the most power with a t3 and stock bottom end?
like i said i might abort this, get a cx again, and do b16 custom setup with a bigger turbo and standalone from the start.
what do you think after i typed a damn novel?

I dynoed at 313 whp at 12psi (93 octane gas) . This is off a completely stock b18c1 USDM. The only thing I can suggest you is to get an aftermarket fuel management and get rid of the FMU, do it right the first time. My set up consist of Hondata, 98 b18c1, BBk 255 fuel pump, JG manifold, Drag 3 turbo (t3/t4b), 30 shot of nitrous to spool the turbo (shuts off after 5 psi). Best time so far is 12.2 at 11 psi on slicks.
yes i hear that i have accel dfi just sitting in my garage....i will never do anothher setup without standalone.
but what about the t3 specs'? any other numbers?

From looking at the compressor map and doing some math it looks like after the 6400 rpm the turbo just hits a brick wall at just about any boost from 8 psi to 17 psi. Don't go over 17 psi, the efficiency is horrible. This turbo is not really suited to a high reving b18 but would be nice for a daily driver. Your spool will be way low in the rpm band, like near full boost at 3000 rpm, but after 6400, the efficiency is gone and it starts pumping serious heat into the intake charge. I got all the info to make this determination here:
http://www.turbocharged.com/catalog/compmaps/fig5.html
and a simple spreadsheet of my own making.
Compressor ar is .60 and exhaust ar is .48. quite a restriction to a high revving b18.
Sorry, dude, send that turbo to me for $20 and I will take care of it on my D16.
