best drag radial on the market is the BFG dont play around with any of the others. the BFG hooks as good as a slick almost.

The titan motorsports supra uses them with great success running 9.40 with 1.6 60ft.

Yeah, I know BFG are among the best, but will their 215/60 R14 mount on an HX rim w/o any problems?

Do drag radial have to be heated up to work properly, I heard somewhere that they must which wouldn't make much sense to help on the street?

BFG is a great tire most of my best times were made on them, problem is getting them, they only make em like once a year they say and most shops run out by april. they do not say anthing about heat cycling them but I do wet burnouts with em until I can do a nice dry hop and then they are ready to hook, mine are great at 12psi with <80Ftrack temps, and 10psi >80 track temp, ambient air temp is not important. Also if you go to the track folowing a domestic event I increase the tire pressure as the use to much stickum at those events, great for breaking axles or 1.6 short times.

I have used both the Nitto and the BFG..

Both worked well for me, I went through both sets and picked up another set of Nittos since they are dow to 74 for the 15" shipped.

If these are drag radials u plan on using at the track only pretty much, definitly go with the BFG's.. Ive gotten 5k miles out of em daily driving, with weekend track events. I dont think there is a better drag radial.

but if u need a daily driver tire that u want to bring to the track, id say go with the nittos.

as for the 215's goin on the 5.5" rim, if it fits, i say go for it, the wider the better.

Hehe, yeah they do. This past weekend for some reason I entered the street tire class thinking there was gonna be more hondas in it. During qualifying I was behind this car. Nothing more intimidating than staring at a 9 sec supra and trying to read what his license plate says but being unable to do so by the parachute being in the way. Then to make it worse, taking a glimpse in the rear view and seeing Ari Yallon in his RX-7 pulling up behind you
I was quickly eliminated---duh.

Thanks for the replies, I'm planning on picking up a pair of HX rims from a junk yard and having drag radials mounted on them. They will only be used like once a week, every Sunday night, which is when the imports meet up here.

I am still concerned if the 215/60 R14 will be ok to mount on the HX rims, do they have adequate width?

I just ordered some 225/15/15 for my 94 gsr rims. But I have spare rims I can just switch out. My buddy has them on his civic and they look so mean!! I wouldnt recomend using them on the street on that small of a tire...

Are these the older BFG drag radials, or the newer g-force drag radial?

I have had two sets on my Si's so far. I went through them in about 3 months, driving. They rock at the track as well. Soooo soft....

I'm lookin at getting the Drag Radial Comp T/A, not the G-force. I dont think the G-force comes in 14"

Thanks for the help, the price at tirerack is cheaper than discounttiredirect had for the older Drag Radial T/A's.

Why not use em on small rims?

Well, I have HX rims on my car, and I'm going to buy 2 more, so when I have the drag radials on, the casual observer (at the informal dragracing location) wont notice unless they look closely. Kind of cheating in a way, but oh well

hey, i do that too, I roll stock 98 GSR wheels everywhere, I roll up to a mustang on the street, im already on drag radials. I dont screw around when it comes to racing, I want every advantage i can get. but I seriously think i am calming down, for some reason i dont feel the need to test my power as much as i used too. definitly a good thing. but yeh, running drag radials isnt cheating, its called smart!
