Need Help With My B16 Build!! Please read!!
Alright, I'm new to the honda-tech website so please just bare with me. I need a little help with my build. I have the b16a2 in my 99 si and I recently aquired a Pr3-4 head brand new from the factory along with all its complete components. I have my intake manifold ported and polished as well as a 74/69 taper bored throttle body. I have the standard I/H/E. Since i'm swaping the old pr3-2 head for the new pr3-4 head I wanted to do internal work while i have it open. I wanted to replace the pistons/rings/rods and I'm def. gonna need a new head gasket. I just want to know what i should run as far as pistons/rings/rods and head gasket??? I'm def. going to run a nx wet kit that i already have most likely the 35 or 55 shot. Since the b16a2 motor is already kinda low compression i was thinking about maybe staying with the low compression??? The bottom end itself has about 90,000 miles on it. I just want to make a strong build so that it can handle my 35-55 shot of nitrous without any problems and maybe in the future add a supercharger. Your thoughts, concerns, pros, cons are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
If the fuel system is alright a 55 shot is not going to hurt your engine. I gave my b16 120 more hp and 90 more ft-lbs than stock and it didn't even care.
If you're running a kit stick with the stock injectors, maybe just get them flow balanced. As for a fuel rail and regulator, don't bother, not really needed. Get a fuel pressure gauge to make sure you're not running out of gas under spray, and I'd upgrade the pump to a Walbro 190lph or something like that just to be safe.
