Ok here's the skinny, I got an MSD ignition from a friend who had it on his truck (which he sold), so he gave it to me cheap. It's an MSD 6A. So I'm looking over the installation and I'm a little confused here. Among the wires sticking out of this thing that I need to setup, I have 1 heavy red wire that goes to the positive terminal on the battery, 1 heavy black wire which goes to negative terminal on battery, then I have a red wire which goes to switched 12v, so I can just wire that to my ignition no problem... here are the confusion wires.

I have a white wire which according to the instructions says "To points or amplifier output (connects to yellow wire of timing accessories)". Then I have a Green/Violet wire plug which it says is "MAG PICKUP- To magnetic pickup in distributor or cranktrigger". So those are the wires i'm confused about. The Positive, Negative and switched 12v are easy, but these last ones are killing me, any help would be apprieciated!!

Thanks, I seem to have everything down except the trigger wires. Do I use the white trigger wire, or the MAG pickup wires? Which is used for Honda's??

 

the trigger wire is the one u use...

the white msd trigger wire goes to the white/black wire on the - side of the coil

the red msd wire goes to the black/yellow wire on the + side of the coil...

look at that pdf file again.... scroll down to 21 and 22 is shows exactly how to hook it up, using either the stock honda coil, or an external coil!
