Need Help And Info About Turboing
Hey What's up ... i gotta 1995 d15 non-vtec civic..... i just ordered http://www.ssautochrome.com (manifold,wastegate,8psi spring,downpipe w/ 90degree elbow, and t3/t4 turbo) ordered from JonnyRacer Front Mount InterCooler... what else do i need and where could i find a guide on the internet of where to find?
I know i need
1. BOV
2.Oil lines
3.Injectors (dsm 450?)
4.Boost Controler
5.Turbo Timer
6 ???
7 ???
what else do i need? what is a map sensor? do i need one? what is this thing i keep seeing "hack"? what all do i need to get my civic up and running good???? chipped ECU? do i need any of this... if i am only running 5lbs of boost is that ok? or can i run more? do i need Fuel Managment to run more?
all i want to know is what all i need now to run 5lbs of boost safley without hurting my engine..

your gonna want to get some sort of fuel management as well...the hack that you see refers to the Apexi VAFC hack, this is the low budget fuel management......

at ANY psi, you're going to need some fuel management
the vafc hack is the least expensive, but most limiting as well
if you're only doing 5psi though, vafc should suit your needs perfectly...
if in the future, you plan to boost more psi, i'd consider uberdata or hondata (uberdata is considerably less expensive)
I'd say Good Fuel management/ tuning is the most important aspect of going turbo, so don't cheep out here... You don't want your engine to explode b/c it was running too lean

if you only want to run 5 pounds then just buy an fmu and a fuel pump...that is what my brother has on his d15b and he is running 9psi. as far as fuel management anyway
