Need help choosing which SC61
Ok I really need some help on choosing which SC61 would be best for my setup... turbine and compressor housing
My goal is 500whp(which I can already see) since this car will be DD and street/drag purposes and I would like the fastest spool response. I have already aqquired the following and the build consists of:
B18b block 84mm Golden Eagle sleeved
CP pistons 9.1c/r 84mm
Eagle H-beam rods
B16 head mild port and polished
CTR camshafts
skunk2 cam gears
skunk2 springs and retainers
JG Edlebrock VictorX IM
JG 68mm TB
Neukin or InlinePRO turbo manifold (not sure which to order yet)
Precision 600hp intercooler
Precision 1000cc injectors
Tial 38mm Wastegate
Tial 50mm blow off valve
3" downpipe -> 3" exhaust -> Apex-i N1 turbo muffler

That sounds EXACTLY like my build. lol.
Head - B16a2
- Portflow Valvetrain
- VictorX Intake Manifold
- 68mm Pro Products TB
- CTR Cams
- Skunk2 Camgears
Block -
- 84mm B18a Golden Eagle HD Sleeves
- 84mm CP Pistons 9:1
- Eagle Big Bolt Rods
- ACL Bearings
Forced Induction:
- Precision SC6176e turbo
- Precision 750hp FMIC
- Precision 1000cc Injectors
- TiAl 38mm Wastegate Silver
- TiAl 50mm BOV Silver
- InlinePRO Stainless Steal A/C Manifold
- Spoolin Performance 3" A/C Downpipe
- 3" Straight back to Vibrant Flat Black
- Spoolin Performance Intercooler Pipes, 2.5" All around.
I went with the InlinePRO Manifold, and the SC6176e
I'll also be adding a little bit of nitrous if it dosent make what i want it too.

Re: Need help choosing which SC61 (hyboosted)
I would go with the E trim for spool time but I know most might say the S trim for just a lil more topend power.

I also would say a 6152e... but if you want the best opinions, call precision and just ask them which would spool best and make your goals.
I am betting they will turn you on to a sc61 or something close to it... and probably the bb option would be nice...
Btw you are not getting alot of people looking at this or replying because you forgot to mention gt35r... the new bandwagons get all the glory. Didn't you get the memo.

I dont have 84mm. I use the sc6152e and the spool time is perfect, street driven no issues. 9.0.1 compression 81.5mm ls vtec. built head skunk cams. wicked quick and fast
my boy 84mm 9.8.1 comp. ls/vtec crower cams same turbo, street driven super wicked quick. and fast

Damn, very impressive. Probably not possible with a 81.5 bore B16 but it is great to see these numbers coming from the SC's. Reading this stuff is really making it hard to decide (even though it is still awhile till I buy) between the "Wagon" snell and one if these. Kinda of like the difference between a 350Z and a G35

Can you post up a chart? That sounds like some fun, and with boost to spare, on a sleeved block I bet 600 would be obtainable. Headwork and valve train "should" get that 600 number. Does anyone know what the max pressure limit on the SC's before you are really taxing it?

I made 655whp last week with a 6176S on an 84mm ls/vtec at 27-28psi.

Re: (tony1)
I think the sc6152s is a great budget turbo. I mad 600hp at 27psi on a 84mm gsr with stock head and cams. Thats not a big deal these days but good power for the cost of that turbo I think
