we used to use the crane hi6tr unit with adjustable retard back inthe day worked well. Use one step colder plug and factory or NGK wires.

u just need one thing, msd digital 6..its got all the stuff u need. retard, 2 step...
gotta get a coil w/ it also..hvc or crane version.

ur other option is like a 6a, 6al, sci or whatever basic box. only prob is then u need to buy the n20 retard and all other goodies.

no need for wires.

get a msd cap, digi 6 , and ngk bkr7e and ur set.
merry xmas

What Do you think of this-- This is what i was planning on running:
MSD Plug Wires, NGK 2 step colder platinum plugs, msd digital 6 as Roby Explained above, and a coil of some brand (prolly msd). Do i need a new cap?

zfr's are the VPower line of plugs. They are projected style plugs, which you don't want for nitrous. For example, my 92 LS's stock plugs are ZFR5-11 (copper) and PZFR5F-11 (platinum). The "5" is the heat range. For NGK's the higher the number, the colder the heat range. Thus, the BKR7E's are 2 steps colder than stock. Also, The BKR's are non projected style tips which is what you want for a turbo or nitrous application.

The problem is that there are a lot of people that don't know much about n20. Here's a link from NOS:

http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/TechSer.../NOSTech3.html

It has some good info. Scroll down to the part about spark plugs. I've gone through a melted valve and a melted piston with my nitrous kit. So you could say that I have a little experience with it However, now that the turbo's going in next spring, the kit will be retired.

Ive run my nitrous system on my h22a for about 10-15 runs now at a 50hp shot. The plugs look kinda gray...what does that mean? Heard it was normal, but is it detonation?

my plugs almost always looked Gray, which is ok but a bit on the lean side if it's light Gray/White in color. a darker Gray to Mocha color is just right. if there are specs of silver and white stuff then that's detonation. you should hear predetonation while injecting if there is any. if real mild you may not.

MSD Digi 6, MSD cap, HVC coil, stock or Magnecor wires, NGK BKR7E-11 plugs gapped around .035". from Summit Racing the plugs are #1283 ($2 each), #7 in heat range which is 1 step colder than the DOHC VTEC plugs. may be 2 steps colder than the stock B18B plugs, but i can't remember if they were #5 or #6 plugs.

BTW, what DP system are you using and what fuel upgrades do you have already?

Did anyone check out the new kit from Nitrous Express? It has a fuel rail included with the kit and no solenoid to mount. It looks pretty good.
