OK I have a problem I am runiing 15psi through my stock sohc with a rich tune, the car will misfire if I gap the plugs to .032 at higher boost levels, but when I regap them down to .028 it will misfire only in 2nd gear as it ramps up to boost there is obviously to much fuel going in and it can't quite spark it. With the narrower gapped plugs.

So I am thinking regap to .032 and run a MSD box to increase the sparks power, the question I need answering is what do you need besides the MSD 6a box I can get that reasonably cheaply 2nd hand, do you HAVE to run anything else with it? Ie the cap or coil etcera, looking to buy this ASAP so appreciate help. I have done a search read many answers, from that I gather the wires aren't necessary, but not sure about the rest.

you will need the msd modified distributor cap and and msd external coil. you will also need the wire that goes from the msd cap to the external coil, forgot whats its called. it looks like a spark plug wire, but its a little different.

i use the msd 6a, blaster SS and msd cap. easy install and works good for me, i run 19lbs with a 28 gap, sohc
