Default need help with Apexi S-AFC

I went through emissions the other day with my turbo GSR. One of the numbers failed and the guy said that if I lean it out a little bit, that number should drop under the legal limit and pass no problem. When I bough the car, the seller informed me he had it set running a little on the rich side anyway to be safe. Anyway, I am wondering how easy it is to use my Apexi S-AFC (already installed in car) to "lean it out" a bit. I don't want to go crazy, where I am putting the engine in danger, but i've never used the air fuel controller before and don't even know where to begin or how to use it to change the air/fuel mixture to be a little more lean. Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks much

Go to google.com and search for the apexi website which will have the manual on using your afc.

Yeah as above really. I dont now how they do your emissions over there but here in the uk its just at idle so i would just take 3-5% of fuel out at 1000 rpm or whatever % it takes to get it to pass the test. If i were you i would write down the high and low throttle settings before you start so if you do get in a mess you know what they were and then just put them back to what they were after the test.

what do you think is the most I should lean it out without danger of killing the engine? ie: If I lean it out 3-5% and still doesn't pass can I lean it out another 3-5% and so on, when should I stop? lastly, what does anyone think would be best for testing emissions regarding the octane. normally I run 93, but would 87 or 89 burn cleaner or easier?
