Default Necessity of Aftermarket Ignition??

So here's my situation: about a year and a half ago I installed a Crane Cams Hi-6 ignition along with the LX-92 race coil. My problem now is that I must re-gap my spark plugs every 1,000 miles or so due to the erosion caused by the more intense spark. If i do not constantly regap them, the ignition breaks up at high rpm/high boost levels (>5000rpms and/or >8psi). It wasn't like that before I added the Hi-6. I also get no radio reception due to the electrical noise put out by the ignition. My question is am I better off replacing the stock ignition and losing the Hi-6 or continuing to regap these plugs? Just FYI, i run NGK 7-series (2 steps colder) plugs on a D16Y8 at .030 gap and ~10psi. Ive heard stock honda ignitions are good to 400+HP, is this true? Thanks in advance for the help!

Go to a honda dealer and buy the stock Ignition and put them back on. See it would help.

Try a lower gap .022-.024, .030 is way big for that ignition..

Try using a spark plug with a steel electrode, like the NGK V-power. I found that copper electrode plugs only lasted a couple thousand miles on my car, too.

Since you posted in FI I assume you have turbo setup.

What is your engine management.

You should ditch the ignition setup. Stock is good up for around 500 whp.

I'm pushing 400whp daily driven on completely stock ignition with hondata management.

I put the stock back on, it started right up and seems to rev faster. I'm going to keep it stock- we all know the saying- K.I.S.S.
