N20 ya!!!
i'm cheap. and i wanna run a wet fogger on my stock jdm gsr motor. i know nitrous is no different than a turbo if used properly and the air fuel ratios are kept in check. but im curious if any one knows what kind of shot a stock motor can handle. some people told me that 50 was the highest others told me they get away with a 75 shot. so im trying to figure out how much horsepower a usual turbo kit at 8 psi will add to a stock motor and then judge my n20 jetting accordingly. any help will be great. thanks
No, idiots with nitrous ruin motors, just like idiots with turbos ruin motors. Thanks for your intelligent contribution to the thread though, I am sure most of H-T thanks you for the bandwagon.
To the OP, it all depends on timing control and tuning just like with a turbo. PSI is irrelevant on what a stock motor can handle just like there is nothing definitive about how much nitrous one can handle. I have sprayed well over 100 whp with decent timing control, a stock set of injectors, and a walbro pump.
I would do one of two things, either (A) use crome pro/hondata to control the nitrous also allowing it to pull out X amount of timing when it is sprayed and put it back in when it's not or (B) use an MSD box with a retard box which is activated by the trigger wire on the nitrous. I prefer the MSD box simply because of the ease of changing the amount of timing in the motor with a pill switch but either will work. If you are just starting out, I would learn to read plugs well, start small, use a good fuel pump and ignition control, and learn all you can. Can't go wrong with horsepower in a bottle as long as you do it right.

ran a dual stage 150 shot direct port with a base map tune from PYR out of houston back like 3 years ago and it pulled 11.4-11.7s all day and night for about 9 months.
Went to a CRV-Tec with pistons and rods, hondata s300 and ran 11.0s all day long for a while until the valve train crapped out. got vids.
