Default My Uberchip review!

Well, I received my first uberchip last monday. I then socketed my computer and put it in. Then I come to find out I put the chip in backwards OOPS! Anyways, I bought another one from uberteg andjust got finished installing it again. Works GREAT! My idle is nice and steady at 800 rpms, I can run stock timing now, vaccum to boost transition is nothing, it runs like a stock boosted car. I can't say enough good things about this chip. All I can say is, get one now before the price goes up!
Thanks for all your help and patience Uberteg!

Its probably off the scale (rich), heh. lshatchturbo said he saw black smoke under boost Just covering my ***, if you want to lean it out, just lower your fuel pressure, use an afc, mail it back for free reburning, or a combination of some/all

edit: shipping of the chip is 2 postage stamps unless u want ups or something.

One thing I haven't heard is whether or not you have to get a different MAP sensor for running higher boost with this chip, I'm assuming you do. Could you clear this up?

You have to get a 3bar mmap sensor to run higher boost on ANY fuel managment except fmu. But you shouldnt be running that much boost on an fmu anyways so we can exlude that

The chip has fuel maps that will cover anything the stock MAP sensor will handle. Uber's doing 2bar map sensors now too, and I'm sure 3bar will come soon... so it all depends on how much boost you're running. The chip can handle more than the stock MAP, so the MAP is the limiting factor. Just make sure you alert Uber to the fact that you wanna use a beefier MAP sensor.

EDIT: Uberteg, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, from what i can tell im nice and rich under boost. I decided to sell the smc instead of using it in conjunction with the chip. Im waiting for your next little project to come out Overall Very Very pleased!

Hey, did your turbo build any boost when you bounce off of the full throttle launch rev limiter? I figured it may spool some cuz ALOT of air will go right thru the engine into the exhaust manifold when the fuel is cut.. and if the turbo is hot enuf, it could ignite it

TurboDC4 how did you find the smc in conjunction with the chip? Did you hook the smc up exactly the same?
