Is my theory CorrecT??
Alright, So ever since I got my car tuned by Jeff Evans, like two weeks after actually, it's been running like ****. I mean 10-15 miles per gallon, and hesitation at 0 load, or between vaccuum and boost. . .
I could never figure out what it was, until someone mentioned to me that something in my setup had to have "changed" since the tune. . . .They mentioned FPR etc. . .
I don't have a FP Gauge, but I will get one this week. Anywho, I was thinking REALLY hard as to something that changed. . .and it was a vaccuum leak that I had while we dyno'ed.......
There was like a tiny pinhole leak between one injector and the injector seal on the intake manifold. . .
So now for my theory. . .
I fixed that AFTER I got home from the dyno. I was thinking, that that hole was enough to lean out the car while Jeff was tuning it, and now that it's fixed, its running pig rich. . .(I mean black smoke at idle, fuel COVERES the rear bumper)
I think the really low idle and spitting tons of fuel is do to the fact thatr Jeff was trying to get it to idle normally, but couldn't because of the leak, so he richened it up all the way. . .
So, Basically I need to go back to him for a re-tune, correct? I figure, while I'm at it, I might as well throw on a thick HG and tune for more HP. . good idea?
Or am I totally wrong, and that is not the problem haha

Your vacuum leak is only a vacuum leak at idle and before boost. After that its a boost leak and won't really affect the tune at boost and wot.I think you need to keep looking.

No, I meant its running realy rich and getting bad gas milage when I drive (partial throttle. . . )
WOT still pulls like a **** (well to others, my car feels slow to me cuz I drive it every day

yea it sounds to me like that hole was your problem. You should get a wideband so you can check these things and make adjustments to uber yourself.
I don't have a chip burner, laptop, or the knowledge to do so. .. lol
BTW, I have a cometic HG, I don't know if it lowers the compression thou. . .here's what it says on the package. .
It says .043" MLS, Nitrous and Turbo
Will that lower the compression? If not, anyone wanna buy it, I have no use for it

Yea, and he thought it was the 02 sensor going bad. . .He said he's only heard of it once and that was a while ago. . .
I did tell him I fixed the leak like right after I did, but that was months ago. . .

I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not but on my car and a few other cars ive tuned with uberdata ive noticed that i'll tune the car to a soild high 13-low 14 a/f crusing and part throttle. Week or so later at the same load/rpm points and it will now be reading high 11's low 12s a/f..Its done this a few times and i just would reburn chips until it went away..
you should just buy a chip burner and an old laptop. Chip burners can be had for like $50. An old laptop...maybe 2-300? I have gotten my afr very near perfect at every load/rpm and i can tell you I didn't know **** about tuning a year ago...it just takes a little practice. At the price you are paying to keep getting it tuned it may be better in the long run to just go ahead and get a burner.

Odd.. never happend to me, at least not on my cars when I'd left the WB attatched for days/weeks at a time..
Back to the original topic though, why not try simulating the original leak by pulling a small vacuum hose off and see if the car returns to it's former state. If it does it's an obvious answer to the problem, if not, you know the leak isn't/wasn't the issue.

sounds to me that the leak was the problem , when have jeff tune my car i make shure every thing is in order no leaks or any issues , just for this reason one small thing can change your tune , did you say you added a fpr to your setup ??
vac leak i dont think would cuase the prob unless it cuase the FP to change, but the fuel leak will have made the difference becuase it woulda been running lean in most cases.
yes it definintly sounds like a fuel leak issue. I have heard of people's cars running like complete **** just from the tinniest leak in an injector o-ring.
It wasn't a fuel leak. . .It was a leak between the injector seal on the intake manifold and the injector. . .
I just bought a FP gauge, I'm gonna put it on now. . .
And I went to an auto parts store to buy a new 02 sensor also, but they ****** quoted me $292!!!!
WTF?!?!?!
Nope, stock FPR since I got it tuned, and it's still stock now. . .

if that injector seal is cracked it will leak fuel. Well at least you are mor probable to leak fuel then air. thats for sure.
ive seen it many times. trust me

Well it wasn't cracked at all. . . The injector was too far up in the fuel rail, and it wasn't seating properly in the seal on the IM. . .(it wasn't pushed in all the way)
BTW, Just put on the FP gauge. . . its at 48-50psi at idle with the vaccuum line connected. . .

Didn't know there was a leak. . .Was reading 22 vaccuum at idle. . .perfect. . .Jeff didn't even find the leak either. . .

See, I would. . .But it really fucked up the idle, It would bounce from 1k to like 4k with the IACV plugged in, and when I unplugged it, it sounded like a V8 with some nasty cams. . . .
