My magnetic drain plug at work...
this is during the break in of my built engine with only about 100 miles on the odometer. $47 well spent for my Spoon magnetic drain plugs.

If you guys wanna double your protection, get one of these
http://www.magnaforce.com
its a 4500 guass magnet that fits onto the back of your oil filter. I have one on my car, I still gotta get off my lazy *** and rip open my oil filter to see if it helped at all. My car is somewhat new so I'm not expecting too much stuff in their, but it will be good for long term protection.

Hey, that is my trick!! I have been doing that for years. Those speaker magnets are very strong and pull serious metal particles out of the oil. Only problem is they can fall off as you drive. I have lost 4-5 that way.

That's why they have duct tape. It works wonders.

Re: My magnetic drain plug at work... (POLLO)
Making your own magnetic plug is easy. Just grab a small ball magnet from this place http://www.wondermagnet.com/dev/magnets.html and attach it to the end of the drain plug with some jb-weld. These magnets are VERY strong and will stick to the plug their own but will also stick to the pan as you insert the plug, thats the reason for the jb-weld. Also grab some of the 3/4 inch *****, they're fun. You can stick one on either side of your hand and they're strong enough to stay on even when shaking your hand around.
