Default My LS/VTEC build

Here is the project that I have been working on for the past year and a half. My car is a 00 EK coupe. I bought a LS/VTEC swap from a friend last year around May and I have had nothing but problems with the car. Just with the computer and some mechanical stuff too. Well her are a few pictures of the car and some of my engine and a few of the new parts thats going into the car.
I took everything out and painted the engine bay. Before....

After....

Here is a picture of the N/A set up before the paint and all of the powder coating.

And after all of the paint work

I painted the engine, transmission and all of the other little parts

Here I am building the motor with the SRP pistons, Eagle rods, ACL race bearings, ARP main and head studs, and I got the crank balanced..

Even got my boss to do some of the work

Just finishing up with the wiring harness

Its nice to get someone else to work on your own car

The motor is going back in

More to come later. Let me know what you think so far.

Ok so here are some more pictures of my build. I got a little bored at work one night and decided to build a fan shroud for my radiator. I have been building these shrouds for the company that I work for. The ones that I made are designed for the 350Z. I made some of these shrouds for my boss's car and two of our customers cars. One proved the effectiveness with the shroud at Road Atlanta and it lowered his coolant temp about 20 degrees. The other customer I made one for wanted to go 200 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats. He didn't go 200, but he went 183 and was the fastest one at the track that day. Heres the link to the video if you want to check it out.
http://www.forgedperformance.c...n.wmv

Here are just a few of the new parts thats going inside my car. Trunk full of goodies....

I polished a few of my parts like my waste gate and the BOV..

The new powder coating on the valve cover and IC piping

Here are a few shots of the power adder.... There you go, thats why I posted this in the F.I. section.

Here are some more shots of the car when it was running. And some of the crew of Forged Performance.

All of the exhaust valves got bent when the timing belt slipped. Oops...... That was my bad for having the belt too loose. It wont happen again. I replaced the Brian Crower valves that was in there with some new ones and just some pics of the dual valve springs and retainers.

Here are some interior shots of the car...

Here is where all of the magic happens. Some pics of our customers cars.

Here is us at Barber Motor Sports Parkway in Alabama...

Thought I would throw in some shots I got while I was making the fan shroud. One is the wing of our new shop Evo thats coming soon.... Lets just say GT-42 Full Race kit..

Well I should be getting the motor back at the end of this week and I will post some more pictures of all the stuff i'm putting in the car. Thanks for looking

Nope. I am re-doing the whole turbo set-up. I am going with the peakboost top mount with a 44 mm Tial WG and a GE sleeved block.

Yes he will. I am now going to use Hondata S300 instead of the F-CON. We were having too much trouble trying to set it up on my car. I broke a cylinder wall due to the F-CON. Thats why I am getting it sleeved. I will try to post more pics tonight.

I am shooting for around 550+ whp on his dyno. Which says a lot. Since his dyno reads low. Of course that will be on race gas. I want to see what 17-18 psi will give me on pump gas.

It sure is him. His Z in under the knife right now.

Here are some pictures when I got the motor back in after putting some custom Arias pistons and the turbo back in.

Here is the short block assembled.

And here are the custom pistons from Arias.

My Competition Clutch stage 4 unsprung and their race flywheel.

My Greddy E-01 boost controller that I molded into the A/C vent.

This is how the car sits as of today. The motor was pulled and should be at Golden Eagle today for the sleeve install. Going to order the Peakboost top mount manifold on Monday.

More to come later!

Yea it turned out pretty good. Although that radiator in the picture is long since gone due to the sleeve cracking and letting 14.7 psi into the cooling system and making a round radiator into and oval one. Yea, that was a fun day! That being said, my new JVT radiator is different some how. The shroud won't bolt up. I have to re-weld some new brackets onto the shroud. But the shroud is a very important piece of the puzzle. Pulling air through the whole radiator is key. I see a lot of people just placing the fan directly onto the radiator. Even though I had the fan directly onto the radiator in the beginning. And its such a simple piece to make too. Thanks for all the compliments guys.
