My LS Turbo is slow.... help!!
Well I just went to the track for the first time with my intercooled turbo Integra b18b. My setup us a t3 63/60 running 8psi, uberdata, stock catback, 16" khumo 712's at 30psi.
My best run was a 14.7@ 98.5mph, my 60' was 2.3. Not bad times, but I figured it would be quicker. Do my trap speeds seem high for the times that I am running? What can I do to improve this, I launched at about 3-3500rpm and pretty much dumped it, when I feather it at that rpm, I tended to ride the clutch too much and produce similar 60' times. I am going to add on launch control to my uberdata, but what should I set it at? What should I lower my tire pressure to? Any other tips for me?
Thanks in advance!!

Re: My LS Turbo is slow.... help!! (Smooth-GSR)
Heres a first tip. When running at the track I would want to only change 1 variable at a time so you know what made you faster/slower.
The 60ft is really slowing you down, cut it to a 2.0 and youll be near 14 flat. Also an exhaust would REALLY help you, but im sure you already know that. I'd also try lowering tyre pressure a few pounds at a time and see how it affects you.

You really do need to get that 60' down.. And the exhaust will do wonders also.. I was running 13.9's on stock exhaust with my turbo D16 and I upgraded to 2.5" turbo to cat and 3" from cat back and brought me down to a 13.2's..

did u see what tires he was on??? there not slicks or drag radial. i can see if u meant cut it to a 2.2 but a 2.0 most guys on regular street tires do 2.2's-2.3's. my guess would be it's the exhaust. maybe just unbolt the exhaust next time and run open downpipe.

agreed kumho 712s are junk for drag strip cheap tire though my 60 ft. times were similar to yours I couldn't get a good launch on those no matter what I did

Ya, my friend has some 15" azenis tires that I'm going to try using. What rpm should I be looking to launch at, I have launch control, but haven't set it. I have been launching at 3-3500rpm.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Good luck getting 60 ft times down with any kind of street tire. Look if you go to the dragstrip, get slicks. It's the only way you'll get 60 ft to 1.8. That exhaust kills bolt-on modded cars, it is REALLY hurting that boosted car. Get slicks and 3" exhaust and dip into the 13's! Good luck.

2.3's suck. I dont really care what kind of tires he was running but I said cut the 60ft down to a 2.0 and you'll have around a 14 flat, nothing I said was untrue. Also if you spent all the money to go turbo in a FWD car, I think you should expect to upgrade suspension and tires if you plan on gaining decent traction.

Re: My LS Turbo is slow.... help!! (Boltz)
Definately the exhaust is holding you back. Plus your 60ft times which has been stated repeatedly. There not really that bad for street tires with a turbo teg.
A suspension setup and an lsd would do wonders for you.
Just get that exhaust on there and you should be able to see high 13's with that and some drag radials
I know its not a good comparason. But when I had my all motor GSR last year I was running that same MPH. But I was running 14.1's. I also had some 2.1's on street tires. That made a bit of a difference...but you still should be dropping those times down a bit.

Re: My LS Turbo is slow.... help!! (Stewie)
Thanks for the help everyone. Ya I have to find a quiet 2.5" straight through exhaust though, the closer to stock sounding the better.
I want to lower my 60', but what rpm should I be launching at? I have uberdata and have launch control, just not sure what to set it at. I'll try and post the map, its at my friends house.

Re: My LS Turbo is slow.... help!! (Smooth-GSR)
you could always get an e-cutout put into your downpipe. that would allow you to keep the exhaust you have now and have the performance of open downpipe whenever you want it

Re: My LS Turbo is slow.... help!! (AirWaveGT)
I believe you are laucnhing a little too low in the rpm, This is accourding to my turbo teg. I launch at 4k-4.5k and i always get the best launch at those rpm. try it out and see...
