Nice setup, but unless you cover up that intercooler I would not call it a sleeper. Good noneless though.

Hey, got a question, about how long is the turbo lag when you get on the throttle? the reason that I am asking is that I am gatering parts for my turbo set up and plan on taking it to the track when the set up is completed to see what the car will run boosted. How much quicker should I expect to go. I am running a stock d15 with a free flowing exaust, and 5psi on the turbo.

Thanks

Hello, I was reading the posts and I heard someone saying that they should cover up the front mount intercooler to make it look like a sleeper. Well I realize that it WOULD make it look like a sleeper I was under the impression that front mounted intercoolers are better left open. I've got a 93 boosted Si hatchback and I was told NOT to cover the intercooler, I'll post pics sometime and show you..but am I wrong about the intercooler?

Just a piece of mesh is the cover up I think they were referring to. So the innercooler will still get air. and paint your innercooler black to blend in with the core support.

any disadvantages for painting the intercooler black?? will more heat be absorbed? and if not, what sort of paint would be suitable?

Thanks </TD></TR></TABLE>

Wich turbo are you running on your d15? My turbo begin to spool at 4300 and I have full boost at 5600 in 1st gear. In 2-3-4 its around 4000 and when the vtec kick at 4800 I instantly full boost and in fifth gear on the highway its 3500 full boost at 4200.

The disadvantage of that is the paint will retain more heat within the intercooler. your best bet would be to anodize the intercooler. It will be like you bought the intercooler black.

I understandwhere this conversation is going, making it a sleeper and what not. But again why put all this money into mesh and anodizing when frankly 9/10 people wont know what the intercooler is anyway, unless it's just the town I live in but everone around here wouldn't know the differnce between a turbo and a paper bag from McDonalds, but watch out, don't get into a conversation about which tail lights look the best becuase that's all they know and they'll out talk you there.

it's true 9 out of 10 people won't know what an front mount intercooler is, but that's not the purpose. You don't want other racers to know. You want your car to look as OEM as possible pulling up to the fastest guy in town and have him guessin what you have.

Nice another turbo G2 teg.. Tell is the waste gate on both the middle runners or just one? I have a similar manifold and may need an external soon.

Congrats bro, always gots ta give props to my fellow G2 Integra guys. Looks good. If it wasn't for that blinging intercooler you would never know what was under the hood. You should find a way to hide it, then it would be a total sleeper. Once again, Congrats
