Default are my compression numbers ok

i deciced to do a compression test finally to compare results to before i started ragging on the motor. i used a older compression tester last time but the same brand as the new one i used tonight. the results of last time were 180 180 180 180 starting from driver side to passenger side.

i used a brand new one never been used before but the same brand. the results from driver side to passenger side were: 195 195 198 186. same results on cold and warm motor. and both test old and new were done with 10 cranks each but teh numbers leveled out after 7 cranks anyways.

i am worrie about teh last number of 186 do i have anything to be worried about on these numbers??

could i have a bad head gasket?
motor is b18c1 with je 9:1 pistons

your numbers are fine.. the 186 is not a problem... tollerances with compression testing is usually allows for a 20-25 psi difference between the highest and lowest psi yeilding cylenders

Your number are fine. They dont always have to be equal to the same number

(eg 185, 190, 185, 190) is fine.

yea it will be fine.. you have good compression. i did a test on mine the last friday cause my car was filling sulish and it turned out bad... starting from driver side to passenger side (1234) 145,125,155,155. i have a stock b17a with 167k and had 10psi on it everyday.. it suxed.. but now its time to put those cp pistions in i have had for about 3 weeks and some rods and may be a sleeved block...

why? your numbers were aweseom 270 across on 9:1 compression.

although i am worrid about my last cylinder being 186 and the rest are like 195. why woudl my last one be so much lower than the rest? does this mean something is going wrong and it will continue to get lower?

We think 9.5:1 (at least that is what it is suppose to be)

These high numbers I would think can cause major head "liftage"
