my car is smoling
well i have a del sol 1.5 turboed to 6lbs. My car has been driving fine and all and yesterday i drove home 3 hrs and it ran perfect and all and didn't smoke at all. Today it was 8 degrees outside on my way to school(15 min trip) and i drovve my car under 3k rpm the entire time so that it would not be boosting at all. But i noticed when i was driving, there was a massive amount of smoke following me...is it just because it was so cold or is there possibly something wrong? Like i said it didn't do this yesterday at all but it was also 35 degrees when i was driving yesterday. thanks
no cat...2" exhaust i think....so even though it was a massive amount of smoke...i am still ok? it was def. white..like a huge cloud following me lol..is that b/c of the no cat and having the turbo? i also have no muffler

mine does the same exact thing. i have no cat and 3in.
at a light i can see the steam come past my passenger door. i get quite a bit of steam. if this is the first you are seeing it, and a compression check is still good, i feel you are fine

yeah i've never seen it before and i guess i wll need to check the compression...i just wanted to make sure my car wasn't going to blow up or something b/c it was sooo much smoke/stream...does it go away after a while?

that is what I was thinking...good point

if the oil line gets clogged or kinked oil would get into the DP, I had that happen once and man did it smoke... I mean its just a suggestion, something you might want to check.
I would have to say its just steam. I can't justify a motor blowing a headgasket if your water temps are normal and you weren't boosting. Check your radiator and resevoir for coolant/oil mix, and your water temp guage when your driving. Does it go any higher than normal? And if you are really concerned, just do a compression check, it'll definitely tell you if something is really wrong. But if your temperature guage reads normal, there is no oil/coolant mix, and the compression comes back good, you were just paranoid.

i drove it again and it didn't really smoke but i looked at the exhaust pipe and it kind pf looks like a light coat of oil in the pipe. What would be wrong if oil was getting in the exhaust? Rings?

It could be the piston rings. Only way to find out is to check the compression in each cylinder. Another thing other than the rings that would cause you to have oil in your exhaust would be a blown turbo seal.
