Default Which MSD ignition for nitrous?

96 accord with 98 h22a and right now a small 35hp shot. Will go up to 50hp, then 75hp for the track. Which ignition system do you recommend for nitrous? 6A, 6AL, 6BTM(believe this is useful only for boost), or the 6 digital plus (has retarding ability. Also, how do I know how much to retard the timing?

Thanks

i have the dig 6 = and its great i reccoment it for nos.
it has the boost retard that you preset. 2 degrees for every 50 hp is rule of thumb. i have mine at 2 degrees for 80 shot
plus it has the 2 step rev limit for lauching and for high end limit . . . its sweeet.

I paid about $300 Canadian for mine I think. It was pretty easy to install, I got the cap and coil as well. I would recommend mounting it in the passenger department because I had overheating problems with mine when I had it mounted on the strut bar.

digital 6 is the only way to go! I bought one when I was running NOS and it carries over well with a turbo setup also. I got mine from summit racing.

just curious, but what wires do you have to connect to the ignition box? Im going to get mine today from summitracing for like $287 shipped. Not bad, but is there anything else you recommend like the blaster or coil.....etc....or is that not needed at this point?

Just get the blaster 2. You don't have to get the cap, but it makes the install easier. You should get a new rotor while you're at it, they are cheap. The wires you connect the box to are inside the distributer, they are connected to the stock coil. The box also has two wires that connect to the battery and two that connect to the coil. You have to drill a hole in the distributer to connect two of the wires. Make sure you use silicone sealent on the hole when you are done.

so where does the blaster coil mount? Also, are you using your stock coil anymore when you install these coils? Does it replace the stock coil, or work in addition to it? Thanks again.

You can mount the coil somewhere in the engine bay, its uo to you. The stock coil inside the distributer is no longer needed so you can take it out.
