Default msd ignition ?

A friend of mine replaced his msd with a newer model last night. His first msd box was located under the hood, and the new one he installed is located behind the glove box inside the car. When at idle you can hear the box making a pulsing noise. Is this normal? Thanks for any help.

yes that basically is telling you eveything is working fine , that pulsing is made for every crank rotation if you notice when the rpms are up that noise goes faster.
