you have to put your index finger from your left hand to the + and the index finger from your right to the - and have someone start the car. That way you can push the sparks back in.
seriously though. With the plug wire ON from the coil to the distributor it does this? Or without the wire connected? maybe a defective wire. I never knew the spark could jump that far. damn.

it's not arcing from the dist. it's arcing from the pos. & neg. of the coil to where the wire connects to the top of the msd coil..sorry
i have no clue what to check

Uh, have you replaced the coil wire yet? Arcs happen from the closed power to the closest ground int he system... if the wire's not hooked up inside the coil right, or the wire has a gap inside it, this might happen...
First test.. replace the coil wire.
The coil is probably fine, because the car runs, right? It's putting out power then. but the wire isn't transferring the power correctly.

I got the blaster 2, and it doesn't do this. Also when i installed this it was a bitch to figure otu how the wire attached to the coil. I had to buy some little screw tyoe thign to go ont the top and sometimes i think it isn't hooked up correctly, cause it is not really secured with anything.
I think you got a shitty coil. Cal MSD and see what they have to say.

yea did you do all that **** with taking out the stock coil to wire this one up?
that sounds kinda strange , sounds like it was installed wrong to me .

The path of least resistance SHOULD be the coil wire running from the coil terminal to the distributor, which are all hard connections except a SMALL 1/16" gap for the rotor/cap...
If it's arc'ing the 1/2 inch or whatever to the wire from the power terminal, you've got a wiring issue somewhere. Check continuity on your coil wire from the coil to the distributor!
