mounting blow off valve
will it make a difference if you mount a blow off valve closer to the throttle body or next to intercooler. will you gain power or lose power if you position the blow off valve next to the throttle body?

Acutally it's good to have it atleast a foot away so I hear.
Edit: the purpose of the blow off valve is not to stop the air from going to the TB. It is to make it so it does not go back at the turbo and make the wheel spin the oposite way.

It won't affect power output, but it can affect spooltime. The closer to the compressor the better. By relieving the air nearest the comp. wheel you allow the wheel to maintain its speed while conserving some of the previously compressed air closer to the TB.

The purpose of a BOV is to prevent compressor surge, by dissapating pressure when the TB snaps shut between gears. Comp. surge is when the compressed air in the intake tract "backs up" into the compressor wheel which is spinning at tens of thousands of rpms. It should go without saying(but I'll say it for you anyway) Comp. surge is a bad thing.

it is good to relieve the pressure so that it doesn't go back to the compressor but adjusting the blow off valve. they make blow off valves adjustable, why? you want to relieve all the air to not cause back pressure, so would you want to relieve all the air at once or adjust it so that it relieves but there is still pressure and when you drop it in the next gear, the turbo wouldn't need to work so hard? or is it better to relieve all the back pressure?
