Default this motor better blow

i think have just about everything now..
what am i missing?
i'm waiting for a couple parts, but i should have this motor built within a week or two..

how much power can i expect to make, and how much should i be able to boost safely? i'd rather not build this again for a while..

motor:
b17 block stock
b16 crank
b16 eagle rods
b16 arias flat-top 9.1 pistons 81mm
balanced bottom end
itr oil pump
b18c5 head
mild headwork
b16 cams
golden eagle adjustable cam gears
ctr intake springs
itr intake springs moved to exhaust side
ferrea ti retainers
stock itr valves

skunk2 intake manifold
aem fuel rail
aem fuel pressure regulator
450cc dsm 'bluetop' injectors
uberdata

turbo:
drag3 kit
turbonetics t3/t04e '54' trim
tial wastegate
hks ssqv bov

pics of the prebuilt motor install:
http://integra.modsgarage.com/...mages/
don't mind my ugly cousin.

running the same turbo with stock b17, the car pulled hard later, i could keep up with my friend's srt-4 until the end of 4th, at which point i would run out of gears

this is the first motor i've built, so any tips/tricks/suggestions would be helpful..

thanks

can you get shorter charge pipes without modifying the hood?

my parents weren't to happy about this:

I'd say safely at 12-16 psi and you'll prolly get around 275-300 whp. nice setup and let us know what you do on the dyno when you get them.

You might need a fuel pump too. I'd recommend adding a pump to ensure a good fuel source too.

the kit came with an Airtex fuel pump, is that worth putting in, or should i get a walbro or something?

Do you know what size it is?? As long as its an aftermarket one than yeah it'll be worth putting in. I'm not fimilar with that brand name but you definatly need some kind pump in there if you want to boost anything over 8 psi. I had that problem with my DA and could boost past 5psi cause of fuel issues.

EDIT: I doubt they put a faulty brand name pump in along with the kit so don't waste your money on a walbro or holley or whatever!

When do you think you'll be up and running with some numbers.

it should hold up.. i would for sure get a fuel pump. i have a turbo b17 now and it flys.. is that drag intercooler piping you have? and did you panit your exhaust housing on your turbo black?

yeah, it's supposed to be high flow and all.. it just doesn't appear to be a big name brand or anything..

i was running fine without it before at about 8 or 10 psi..
but with the motor built.. i'd like to run more..

i'm having a machine shop build the bottom end, mainly because i wouldn't know what i would be doing, and they do it all the time, i don't want to mess it up.. <--panzy

so if i'm lucky, i'll have the motor built back together in about 2 weeks
i still need to choose a clutch and flywheel.. the stock ones are shot
and i have to find a dyno.. and tune
but when i do, numbers will be up

the piping is drag3 kit for a 92 gsr, made to keep a/c and p/s, both of which i removed.. then i rearranged the pipes a little, since i didn't like the way they were.

i didn't paint the turbo at all. i painted the manifold, and the downpipe/dumptube with silver vht..

Cool man, I wish i could rebuild my motor and boost the **** out of it. But thats gonna have to wait till i can get that much extra cash to spend. Turn up the boost to like 14-18 psi and get a great dyno number. With that type of boost you should hit around the 290-330 whp range. And that's a hell of a 'butt dyno' feeling when you get on it.

Did you ever get any #'s with the 8-10psi without a rebuild??

no, no numbers from it originally.. but it was a lot different than stock... haha

if i wasn't careful going into second, the wheels would break loose, i had kumhos, but they weren't really sticky tires or anything..
i can't drag race for crap, my best time on the car stock was 17.0 for the 1/4, i only went once..
i went once with the turbo on, and i got 15.5, which is what other people get out of it stock i think... but at that time, the fuel/ignition maps weren't right, and vtec was getting turned on at 4500 rpms, instead of 5500 rpms.... so that didn't help either..

My mom would kick my *** if I left her oven looking like that!! Hahaha...how long did it take you to clean that **** off?

Yeah I know what you mean with the track thing. It has alot to do with traction. Any idiot can push in a clutch and shift right. Once you get some of this **** figured out with the motor invest in some drag slicks...you gonna need them.

yeah, it pushed the intercooler over toward the driver's side a little.. but it seemed so much more simple and efficient than taking it all the way along the other side..

it's a tight fit though.

i bought a complete gasket set to use when the motor goes back together.. do you think i should use an oem headgasket or get a metal 1 piece gasket?

1. I think the airtex is an inline pump, get rid of it and get a 255hp.
2. Get rid of those smallish dsm injectors and get some rc 750 saturated (no resistor pack).
3. Shoot for 350-360 whp!

Bake the VHT paint that I got at Summit Racing, I think it's good to 1800 degrees F? the manifold still looks like it does in the picture..
