yea, that's the infamous dp's car. i doubt this thing will ever see the drag strip, it's his open track toy car that we plan to convert for some race series eventually.

iv'e worked a little bit with that dash. when we bought ours for the FSAE car, it cost a lil over $2k- that was with our sponsorship discount, but it was also a while ago. maybe the cost has gone down a little.
our setup was a little different though. we were starting from scratch, designing the entire engine ahrness and EFI system. there were a lot of bugs in it when we were trying to get it to read the outputs we wanted, and motec usa was less than helpful.
they're really interesting though in what they can datalog. we were logging everything from ARF to suspension activity (potentiometers on the shocks) to lap times based entirely on accelerometer readings.
it's one helluva toy, that's for sure..
kinda makes me wonder if the magneti marelli systems are actually worth the extra $10k...

That dash is the coolest thing you can put on a race car. It's not just a dash, it's a datalogger and has inputs and configurable outputs that can do anything you can imagine. They have what are called user conditions. Basically if * then *. On kenny's car i have it setup to where any time front wheel speed is below 5mph, the two step is turned on. There's no button to worry about hitting or messing up. You can also display every sensor on the car on the screen one at a time and scroll though them. You can set warning alarms with any condition. For the most part, if you can think of something you want it to do, it can probably do it!
hmm, that has me thinking... how can i recreate what you just described without the adl and only the motec ecu, since i don't own an adl myself.
what if i set one of the motec outputs as a warning light, and for it to come when the car is below 5 mph. but instead of the output triggering an actual light, I have it attached to a relay that would ground one of the motec's inputs triggering the 2 step?
would that work tony?

kinda....ive done a little research on the hubs....and this is the best one i have found so far. its a splined shaft instead of a hex....supposed to be less "play" with this type.

SEFI9LOxCivic, Yes you can get a two-step to work with speed without the ADL.
There are many ways to do it.
Using an output of the motec that activates with speed and using that to trigger a relay to one of the motec's input should work fine.
I use an autronic and have mine setup similiar with one the coolant fan outputs(activates with speed) connected to my twin-rev limiter input and it works fine.
