Thanks guys for your imput. My friend had his 18g turbo upgrade his thrust bearing and compressor wheel to a 20g. What do you guys think this will support to the wheels???

It was joke Jinx. Besides the fact i would never own another DSM. The only superior motor over a honda is a 2jz in my opinion.

6 bolt 4g63 is a pretty decent motor too though Mike.
I've seen one crank walked 6 bolt and about 5 crank walked 7 bolts.
You can't really **** with how much power they'll support with a set of 2g pistons in a 6 bolt block. That setup has seen low low low 11s around here with way more to come.
Hell I've got a friend thats knocking on the door of the 11s with a 1st gen DSM that has an all stock motor, a FMIC, some injectors, an AFC, a fuel pump, and a stock turbo.
Sucks the year is over here otherwise he was going to attempt to go for the national 14b record.
I think in all honesty as far as bulletproof motors go for boost...
1. 2jz-gte
2. 6 bolt 4g63
3. sleeved b series motors

hey its just my opinion. I have had 1g dsm's at our shop that walked and 2g. We chose not to even touch them if possible. Like shops that wont touch an h22 we wont get near a dsm if at all possible. now as far as your list goes for reliable motors.By the way, You mixed up 2 and 3. 
Not sure of any Hot Rod Dsm's that worth speaking about. although i saw a gorgeous copper one in englishtown last week. It didnt run tough. not to say sheps dsm isnt fast as **** too. That car was very impressive but thats just 1 car. I still give props to brent rau too.that car is unbelievable. Still all the 2jz's are owning modified,street tire,sport rwd, pro rwd. My next project car will be a 240sx with a 2jz trust me.

I know several people personally who are making 400-500 WHP on stock motors, some of them even 7-bolts.
My car ran 12.8 @ 108 on the stock block, stock head, stock turbo, stock injectors, stock sidemount IC..... You can't do that in a Honda, you just can't.
I don't want to start a pissing match of any sort, and DSM's certainly aren't better than Honda in all respects. The 4G63 is one of the beefiest motors you can get, in terms of 4 cylinders, that is all.
Also, don't forget the SR20 and the 3SGTE, both of those will walk all over a B-series motor in terms of power production in stock form.
Then if you want to bring 6 cylinders into play... all the RB series motors own pretty much everything out.

Shep's car is amazing. There is a laser that now runs 9s FWD as well.
I think the only rule a shop really needs to follow is a no 2G DSM rule.
I used to think that H series motors were a pain to work on, but they're not so bad. I really think that the 2nd gen DSMs are a huge pain though. There is no reason to have 3 of the 4 motor mounts on the transmission.

yes stock for stock a turbocharged cast iron block motor will make more power than a honda motor. still In the end if you build both motors a dsm will not make more power lb for lb of boost or peak hp.

I am NOT trying to say that DSM's are better than any other kind of car, or any stupid ricer crap like that. I am just trying to make 2 points:
1: The 4G63 is a DAMNED strong motor, and deserves some credit
2: While DSM's have a bad reputation for reliability, it is certainly not deserved (I can explain this, if you are interested) and they are consistiently some of the fastest 4 cylinders in the country.
The 2JZ is DEFINATELY an awesome motor. In terms of absolute power production, there is just no way that any of us 4-cylinder guys can argue with that big and tough of a motor. I agree with you there!

What I meant was that, in stock form, the 4G63 can take more airflow, more torque, and more power than most other 4-cylinders, with the only competition possibly coming from SR20's and 3SGTE's. You won't find another 4-cylinder making 400-500 whp on stock internals.

Not saying there arent fast ones but there arent fast competitive dsm's. From what i have seen. I know of SKF from trini that has a rwd dsm that has run 7's, sheps car, and brent RAU. I'm too tired to type the list of competitve hondas. I'd like to see a DSM win 1 Sport FWD or Hot rod event. I watch guys beat their head int he wlls all the time trying to make power with dsm's. From Big Lens weak *** DSM to Wright Touch Racing's FWD DSM full race car with 15k tranny going 9.59. with 650whp. I'm sorry but there is no science to making power in a Honda. Build the bottom end, build the head, nice turbo kit, mgmt, fuel and you make 700+whp by accident.

Not a big dsm fan, but Shepard and Rau's cars are badass. I got to see shep at etown and I truly didn't expect an 8.6, but that was awesome . 
Got to give it to Rau he isn't too far behind Ten with two less cylinders. I don't see myself ever having one though.
