Most important guages to have?

Hi guys,
I am about to buy a bunch of stuff today or tomorrow and some of the items on my list are guages.
Right now I am set on getting the Autometer Oil Pressure Guage (electrical) and the Autometer Boost Pressure guage (mechanical). Since I will be running a AEM EMS on stock fuel rail and stock fuel pump, I think that a B&M underhood fuel pressure guage will do ok. For the 3rd guage I am thinking of what the next most important guage would be.
I am looking at either an Autometer A/F guage or an EGT guage to monitor the A/F. This will only be temporary until I get an FJO WB monitor and O2 setup. to watch the A/F ratio. But for the time being, what guage should I go with?
thanks

greddy boost w/memory return, greddy a/f w/ warning light, auto meter oil press. mechanical, auto meter water temp mechanical.

I wanna keep my initial number of guages low when I start boosting, so I only want the essentials. For example, is a water guage really necessary at 7 PSI or will the stock temp guage be good enough?
Oncwe I've had the block built then I will sell my autometer stuff and buy the better quality )more accurate) guages (Greddy?).
i would suggest you do it right the first time and go with greddy gauges
i went from autometer and autogauge gauges to greddy and i lost some money in the transition
however if you do choose to go autometer, get the EGT and boost gauges as your essentials
the other gauges are not really necessary

BTW does anyone know if the Greddy 52mm guages will fit in the Autometer A-pillar pods (2")? I'm guessing no.
does this sound like a good list?
-Autometer boost guage
-Autometer oil pressure
-Greddy EGT guage
i would really suggest the greddy a/f.. it is the most accurate non-wide band a/f gauge on the market. if you don't plan on always having your car dyno-tuned then you can tune it yourself fairly well with the gauge. and it is really hard to tune with an egt.
the only reason i suggested greddy boost w/return is because when you are boosting it is not always easy to keep one eye on the road, one eye on the gauges, and one eye on the tach. the boost return is a good feature....all you have to do is hit the button and you get your high boost reading. plus the metric bar reading is a little more accurate than psi when measuring boost.
one suggestion i would make when it comes to turbo and your car is, DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
saving money=blown motor when it comes to boost

no, the greddy gauge comes with its own o2 sensor..........it also comes with the correct bung so you can weld it into your down pipe.
it's a very high quality guage
just my 2c

I use the greddy 60mm egt w/memory and the 60mm boost w/memory. I will be getting their a/f also. For some other guages like water temp, oil, all that, i'm probably just gonna go with autometer, but for those important ones, i wanted something reliable.
From my experience the most important gauges are exhaust temp, and (in car) fuel pressure gauge' also oil pressure, boost.
well the greddy gauges aren't that great from what i have seen. the exhaust gauge moves and reacts very slow when compared to a autometer. First hand experience so i don't want to hear it...

Mechanical oil pressure is better than electrical, but you'd better hope you never get a leak or crimp a line....I personally use an electrical....
Autometer gauges will be fine for everything. I've heard horror stories about autometer probes melting off in really high temp situations, but nobody I've found can ever verify them. I personally have oil pressure, EGT, boost, water temp, and A/F. Everything is autometer pro comp ultra lite, except for the EGT (which is Apexi).....
Only reason I got the water temp is because stock prelude temp gauges suck
The A/F is really just something to keep me awake at night with it's pretty colors...lol

why is an EGT guage so important??
An EGT gauges gives you a good overall health of what's going on in the engine. If the EGT is off, either too cold or too hot, you know something has gone wrong with the engine management, either timing or fuel. It even gives a better indicator of actual missing, which can fool an O2 sensor.

I'll probably just go ahead and get an FJO and have it installed with the rest of my turbo stuff. That way I dont have to worry about getting the Greddy A/F guage, which is expensive and about 1/3 the cost of the FJO.
BTW does anyone know a place that sells the FJO for really cheap?
TIA
With the autometer boost, some people run larger diameter lines to the gauge to prevent "boost GAUGE lag"
I did this, and the gauge is very responsive.
as of right now I have greddy EGT, greddy fuel pressure (warning), and autometer boost.
The next ones Im getting will more than likely be autometer Oil pressure, and water temp

EDIT:
I think I'm gonna get a FJO setup without the LCD display to minotor my A/F (I have an AEM EMS). But I will be getting the other guages that I listed.

are defi gauges good?
and what is the measuring unit they use?
