most HP period! thread
lets see it.
hands down, who is putting down the most power in their 4 banger. doesnt matter if its d,b, h, k or f. as long as its a honda motor and its putting down power, i wanna who is king.
ive searched and looked vigorously and havent been able to find who is putting down the most power. i know what all of the parts are rated up to but havent found anyone who has broken the best parts from too much power.
aebs/benson sleeves- rated to 1000hp
pauter rods- rated to 1000hp
cp/wiseco pistons- rated to 800hp
gt42r- rated to 1000hp
my friend has a 2.0 gsr hatch w/ gt40r @ 35lbs is at 724ish whp

DSport Issue 49B (January 2007) page 81 stated 1100whp & 700wtq with the GT42R 74mm turbo on about 50psi

Re: (Dunc)
our car has had multiple dyno pulls all around 820whp. in the range of 35-38 psi from a 74mm turbo
on another note, there is a thread in drag racing forum somewhere about a 1000 whp dyno...
here it is...

i heard of a guy (not going to mention names because i don't know whether or not he would want me to talk about it) made 680 on 22psi, breaking the tires loose on the dyno at 7500 rpm, and was spinning to 12,000 he trapped 163 on 36 psi and was still spinning at the 1320...and supposedly wasn't running as much boost as he wanted to.

Re: (drtysohc)
I don't have any problem spinning the tires from 3rd gear on with over 800hp. Nobody is spinning the tires at the finish line and going 163.

Kinda OT. Not exactly B,D,F,H, or K, but it's a "four banger".

Assuming the church is no more than 1/3 a mile away. And pray you don't have to drive around for a parking spot. Billet block w/o coolant can get hairy at 4000hp and a temps above oil's boiling point.
But what I wouldn't give for a 4.8L dohc in my civic...

That's Norwoods "claim". Just like all the cars he built would be driveable, it's just a claim of his.

Re: most HP period! thread (nsxmatt)
For what it's worth, the 4000hp was an estimate of what it should make on nitro, on paper. It never got close, 1800bhp is the most it ever made, on methanol, on an engine dyno. Nothing too spectacular out of a 5 liter motor.

does anyone know the exact parts in stephanie eggums set up? lets see some setups.. if youre cool with it. id like to know exactly what youre using to hold the massive hp numbers..
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by exospeedAMcrx »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Why dont you add:
Arias Pistons
Carrillo Rods
Darton Sleeves
in your best parts list. </TD></TR></TABLE>
i was just naming a few. i know arias pistons are good as my friend has them in his 724ish whp without hiccups. but just comparing them next to the cp's; i think the cp pistons really stand out. ive also seen a few people with problems from arias pistons, they are really good tho. do you know the power ratings for carillos and darton? i know they are up there tho for sure.

Well as you can see Kenny Tran is on Arias pistons. Ask him how his Arias pistons handle the power.
Also a few of the 2JZ powered Pro-RWD cars were on Arias as far as I know.
Carrillo rods, first of all, the CARR bolts if you compare it to the other bolts used by Manley, Crower, Pauter, are way bigger. They actually tq to 65lbs vs 45lbs on most of those rod bolts that come in those kits.
Darton Sleeves, LS1 motors, Top Fuel cars, alot of the ERL blocks are Darton MIDs. I wouldnt put anything else in our motor that we plan on making over 1000hp with.
Whats your basis on CP pistons that they can withstand that much? I know many of the pistons companies are good and make the power, I really dont believe in saying a certain piston brand is less than the other. Unless you've used All brands at one point and have multiple experience with each, its not really an accurate calculation
