Mods Under $300??
Hey guys,
I got some extra money to spend.. what should i spend them on??
it's a sohc with stock internals with greddy kit, ICed, Greddy Evo Exhaust with Greddy downpipe, using the Blue Box, autometer a/f and boost gauge.. ACT clutch action 6 puck disk
I am thinking either upgrading to DSM 450 injectors with SMC OR some LS rods and fuel pump??
Give me some clue guys !!!

but when it comes to tuning, would my autometer a/f gauge be enough??
i also have the apexi TT that shows a/f numbers and O2 voltage... but it's not the same as the autometer a/f...
when i boost, the apexi TT sometimes shows 14.7, sometimes 14.5....

NO, NO YOU SHOULD NOT "TRUST" YOUR AUTO METER GAUGE!
You "could" trust an EGT gauge but personally I would only "trust" a wide band and a dyno. but that's off this subject. now back to topic.
for $300 I would get 450's ($75 + 25 for resistor pack) a pump ($100) & SMC ($100).
As if 10 other people haven't already suggested this!!!
Happy Shopping

Re: Mods Under $300?? (TurBoXBirD16)
sorry guys, I have to bring this to the top again.
So I decided to go with DSM injectors with SMC
Now once I install the injectors and SMC, what do I do about tuning?? I don't have a dyno near by nor I have money for it yet.
You guys asked me not to trust my a/f ratio gauge nor my apexi TT's o2 voltage.
Then HOW do I know if my car is running rich when boosting??
Thanks

Well, if you run TOO lean you'll hear the ping of detonation start knocking on your door. And believe me, that is one HELL of a heart-stopping sound. Imagine getting your jimmy hat wet and getting kicked in the ***** mid-stroke. Yeah, that bad.
Do some test runs, listen for pinging, keep an eye on your A/F for huge dips, and just pull and check a plug here and there. Mine tends to lean out for a second on a power shift into 2nd and 3rd, and ejects a small puff of black smoke. If you ever watch videos of Supra's, you'll see exactly what that looks like since nearly all of them do it sooner or later.
