mini-ram users, let's see your oil return lines!
I'm going to be putting my mini-ram on my d16 soon and would like to see what people are doing for oil lines. I'm hoping my oil line will be high enough that I won't have any problems, but just want to see what everybody is doing

...digs for pics
first mini ram sat the turbo too low. The return was already welded from my prev. setup (Greddy mani and 15G) I had to loop the return becuase the turbo sat a little lower than the return fitting (T3/T4 50 trim)
New current mini ram, sits the turbo a little higher and more forward, direct oil return
(straight barb fitting comes out the pan)
57 trim...about to be a custom 60-1

on the second setup, couldn't you have clocked the center section towards the motor more and used a 45 off of it? seems like that would be near perfect

Could have yes, but it's worked great the way it is. That turbo is actually coming off tomorrow and I may change the fitting as well. No problems at all.

Re: (PA MATT)
Here was my dilemma
Ended up with this
I had to put a 90 off the turbo and clock it with the drain towards the front of the car to angle it down and towards the pan wit a straight barbed fitting.

Here are a few pics of my AFI mini on my d16z6.. I havent welded the fitting on the pan yet but I think I will be ok if I clock the turbo a little bit more toward the front of the car..

I have made a lot of mini rams. They always hang a bit low. You are better off clocking the center section and aiming the return at the pan. Here is a top pic if it helps.

Re: (CSaddict)
im gonna look into getting the function7 flange. it has an -an fitting right off of it. I think if I get that, and run a 45 off of it with the center section clocked towards the pan, ill be doing just fine...time will tell, hopefully this week!

Re: (PA MATT)
Finally got to mocking mine up, sits a lot lower than I had hoped. I might clock towards the front of the car and use a 120* fitting, hoping that will make it. If it wasn't so close to the block, a 45 and the turbo clocked towards the block would have been perfect.
Anybody think it'd be a good/really bad idea to run a 90 off of the drain, and around the compressor?

Re: (drintegra)
I dont have a 90 right now, but I do have a 45 and it leaves no room for any hose or anything else. Im either going to run a 90 with the turbo clocked to the front or a 120 degree fitting witht he turbo clocked toward the front. Hoping one of these will work

slowcrx that looks great! glad everything fits so nicely. I Like how snug the down pipe fits AFI does awesome work.
Drintegra- is it me or is your downpipe really really low? almost like itll touch the ground if your car is lowered.
