Default Mini ram manifold question

I have a inline pro ss log right now and a 5 bolt precision sc34. Inlet faces passenger side since it's made for ac/ps. So I'm thinking about picking up a DOC race mini ram. Could I still mount the turbo the same way it is now and just mod my downpipe to fit? I don't object to having the inlet facing the drivers side but I just don't wanna have to order a new downpipe if I can avoid it. Saves me money to put towards other things. Thanks H-T

you'll have to mod the downpipe regardless, the doc mini will sit lower and tilt at a different angle .

personally, i'd keep what you have

Yeah I like the setup I have on my car now. It's simple and been proven to work. My only gripe is when I was tuned in June by John Kerr @ IMW. He told me with having a log and itr cams that it was hard to get my vtec crossover down lower then what it is now 6,200 rpm. Also running a log with high boost levels creates a lot of heat. I am going to be swapping out my current built gsr for another short block. Right now I have Wiseco 8:5:1-9:0:1 pistons "depending on how much milling was done to the head or block" I'll be putting in a gsr short block that has an ls oem crank and scat ls rods with cp 9:8:1 pistons. So I'll be able to make more power on less boost. I wonder if just selling the itr cams and getting gsr cams would be better suited for my car. I'm hoping to make around 400 wheel. Using the setup I have now and this new motor configuration. Thanks for the info racebum

an Inlinepro log flows very well even on ITR cams. You should not have to set vtec that high, that doesnt right at all. on a log i was in vtec around 5100rpm. lower compression might be hurting the vtec point more so than the log manifold IMO. the itr/ctr cams really like alot of swirl before going to the larger lobes from my experience and lower compression takes longer for that to happen.

I'm just on the chipped version of Neptune so I don't have access to my file. I'd gladly let you check it out if I could. I guess I'll just stick with what I have and go for a re tune once I get the new motor setup in the car.

the log should do just fine, i really dont see why vtec is set that high though other than the low comp. Are you going to raise comp ratio in the new motor?

Yeah I don't know. j-k is a well known tuner so I guess it was done for a reason. Yes new motor has a cp of 9:8:1

I have a set of gsr cams that I already had in my head before I bought the itr cams. Thanks though.

has something to do with the short runners but i went up to a 57 compressor .63 ar hotside. original setup was 50 and .48ar I had to up my vtec crossover to 5300rpm from 4400rpm on a stock itr with 11.1. I could see a lower comp engine having to go even higher. could not get tune to work until i increased crossover . Was told short runners and stock intake manifold were factors also.

That INlinePro mani doesn't need replacing. Those manifolds have been proven into the 800whp range...if anything, ditch that SC34 for something a bit less outdated.

Eventually it'll happen but it's served me well so far and it's not that old. They still produce it currently.
