Default MF2 wiring question

Simply stated, I wired the MF-2 unit and it's not workin properly... the yellow wire is supposed to go the negative coil.. BTW 99 Accord 4cyl F-Max kit... however if you have the MSD BTM then you cant wire the MF2 to the negative coil also otherwise it will fry the MF2... so I need an RPM signal.. where do i get one from? I did some research b/c i thought that i could use the crank sensor but hte Accords that generation only have a countershaft sensor and a crank positioning sensor not a crank speed sensor... i need somethin that is goin to detect rpms by the thousand range bc that is how you tune the mf2... TIA for any ideas/help.... and tell me which wire also plz it is

I forgot which wire because Its been so long, but next to the distributor, there is gray harness plug with like 5 or 6 wires...one of them is the rpm signal...I used a paper clip to probe in the wires from the back of the plug. ans attached the MF2 wire to the back of the paper clip...I tested each wire untilt the MF27s rpm indicator lit up...

just curious who told you this. I think I had mine wired to the neg coil and it was fine. All neg coil is is ground at spark. Its the frequency the mf2 is looking for.

if you have a map sensor you dont need a pressure switch. its controlled automatically by the map sensor (using boost threshold adjustment).

Actually, I heard the same thing. I think it was written in the instreuction book (not to wire the two together)

yeah you definately cannot wire the mf2 tach signal to neg coil, so i actually tapped into my didtributor wiring. here is a good website, it gives all the instructions you need, also if you have any other questions call turbonetics and ask to speak to adrian, he is the rep for fmax since they got bought out by turbonetics.
http://www.aquamist.co.uk/cp/manual.pdf you need adobe acrobat to view
hope that helps

Exactly!!..tap into the one of the dist. wires,,,there's a gray plastic plug right next to it....but I honestly cannot remember...It might be the light blue wire for the RPM signal.
