MBC question
Just bought one of those ebay mbc's and one of the barbs has a hole or vent in it (the top one in the pic) ......is it supposed to have that? I always thought it was supposed to be a closed system

yeah thats what i was thinking, i dont think its just a marker since it goes all the way through and air comes out of it. Should i plug it up?

cool, good to hear

It kinda looks like a release valve......in case that nipple sees to much boost the seal will blow and consequently make it so that the boost controller doesnt work and boost cant build up......basically making it always open....just my opinion....kind of a safety feature i think...

yeah its the ball and spring type, they're visible from looking in the barbs....i'll try covering up the hole and leaving it open and see what works better

the hole is supposed to be there, its the same design as the hallman MBC, it works fine, leave the hole, but make sure that you install it with that hole up just like your holding it in the pic.

the hole is supposed to be there so your wastegate doesn't stay open, if you blow into a tube then hold both ends closed you have tube pressurized tube and will stay till you release an end, the hole is just a release its supposed to be there, don't worry about it

"Once the spring is overcome by boost pressure, most of the air makes its way to the actuator, while a bit is allowed to bleed off to atmosphere. This bleed is necessary, as once you're back out of boost"
