maxrev manifold+ac
has anyone been able to successfully run the maxrev manifold with a/c in an integra? losing a/c is not an option for me. so im going to have to mount the a/c fan on the front. heres the question, should i try to mount the fan between the a/c condenser and the radiator? or can i mount it in front of the condenser. would there be any difference?
edit:just noticed that i cant mount it between the condenser and radiator. would the fan be effective in front of the condenser?

The thing is that the the condenser fan must mount with the flush side against the radiator/condenser, and putting the fan in front will reverse the air flow direction. You'd need to reverse polarity and reverse the fan blades themselves (which you can't do with the stock fans).
Get one aftermarket 12" slim line fan (I think mine are made by perma-cool) and mount it in front of the condenser. It will work fine then.

yeah thats what i was thinking of doing. whats the purpose of that fan anyways, to cool down the condenser or the radiator? if its for the radiator then wouldnt having the fan in front of the condenser be a restriction?
BTW whats the thickness on those 12" fans that you are using right now?

Condenser fan is for the condenser
It only turns on when the A/C is on.
I'm not sure on the thickness... they are thinner than both my FAL fans and stock fans...

so even without that fan there i should be able to drive my car just as long as i dont use a/c right?
guess im gonna be shopping for fans then.

The idea is basically this:
Using A/C makes your car run hotter. As a result, the second fan is put in to increase airflow across the radiator, so the car will not run hot in extreme circumstances.
Many cars that have a/c systems, run fine without the second fan. I would reocmmend taking the fan out completely first and more than likely you will not have any overheatiing issues. If it runs hotter than you would like, then worry about a slim fan, or swapping the fan to the other side.

the second fan is there to help the condesor radiate heat by introducing a high volume of fresh air to the cooling fins. not to help cool the engine because it runs hotter with the a/c on. without the second fan the a/c would be very ineffiecient and may not work at all. if it does work the high side pressure in the a/c system will be way over what it should be. if you ever get a chance hook up some gauges to your ac system and turn it on. the high side should be somewhere near 250 psi. then to view the effects of the second fan you could either unplug it or spray water on the condensor(simulating the added cooling effect of driving.
cliff notes: if you want to keep a/c, figure out how to rig up the second fan

any pictures of these front mount fans? how are they mounted, zip ties? i Got the same problem with the maxrev kit......i thought it was suppose to clear the AC fan.
I've got a 93 Civic EX Coupe and I'm wondering the same thing about keeping the AC...does anyone know of a manifold/downpipe that won't get in the way of the condenser?
