Default Maxrev bov not working?

I'm pretty sure its hooked up properly (vacuum line hooked up from end of bov to IM), but all I hear is compressor surge. Anyone else have problems with Maxrev bov? Or is that just how it sounds?

I'll try to replace the line today, but I am VERY sure there are no leaks in the line. Even if there was a small leak in the line shouldn't it even blow off a little bit?

god damn it. you making this post made me wanna check if my mine was working properly and too my surprise its NOT. that sputter was ****** surge. i never heard it before so i didnt know

i unscrewd the BOV and noticed that the peice inside didnt move very freely, it didnt move at all. so wat i did was sand it all around smoothly so that while in the "chamber" it moves freely. but still now blow off. i checked my lines switched b/w vacuum sources and still the same thing

anyone else have this problem w/theirs.

don't worry man, I've had mine on for longer than that. I heard the Greddy Type-S uses the same flange as the maxrev one. Can anyone confirm?

you can't loosen the Maxrev BOV. its non-adjustable. I tried lubing it up with some bike grease, but still all I hear is compressor surge. I guess I'll go out and buy a new bov.

you can loosen it up a little bit by unscrewing the cap a little.........but it didnt work for me. i was also thinkin about cutting the spring some but i havent done that yet.

yeah, me and Legendboy tried everything. We cut like 60% of the spring off and sanded down part of the side so the piston won't be rubbing up against the side. You can basically push it up wiht your finger, but it still won't blow off, so a friend of mine helped me ghetto rig up a charge pipe and he lent me his turboxs for the time being. STUPID MAXREV BOV

well the spring is cut like tons now, it can basically move if I shake the bov haha. So I'm gonna hook it back up today and see if it works.

k I've sort of fixed it. I sanded down the edges more, and I cut the spring so its like 5" now. And now I can hear it blow off AND I hear compressor surge at the same time. Kinda weird. But maybe if I cut the spring more it'll just blow off completely. I think either way this BOV is a POS and I'm probably just going to buy a new one anyways.

the kit is nice its just the BOV that is a POS or at least for me and this other guy. anyone else have this BOV

i cut my spring as well and i was getting blow off and surging at the same time so i loosened it as much as possible and it would blow off completely but the spring is not strong enough to hold boost and would bleed off.

yeah I did the same thing today. I'm getting a lot of boost leak from the BOV. I think I'm going to try to put some washers in and see if I can find a level where I don't leak boost but no no compressor surge.
