What bolts are we talking about? If you are talking about the exhaust manifold bolts then you use the ones that are on you head or excisting bolts.

jeez since no one seems to know or cant find out. I'll take one of my bolts out tommorrow and take it down to the hardware store and find out what it is. I think someone figured out what size the downpipe bolt is... so Im just going to check the bolt size for the turboflange. Is that what everyone is looking for?

i'm told the downpipe bolt is 8x1.25mm and about an inch long.. no idea on the 4 that connect the turbo to the manifold, or the two screws that hold the oil return line fitting on (bigger then 8mm for sure)

and yes i was trying to make a seperate post so we dont have to load up page 57 of the other one

Hey brian, if you could call curtis that would be great. I know you met with robert, but he isnt an employee, jsut one of the kids who stops by the shop and hangs out... Id prefer you talk to Curtis, and get eveyrhting straight.

Geoff,
why dont you just tell us what size the bolts are, getting in touch with Curtis is close to impossible. He must have the machine he used to tap the flange sitting right there. How hard could it be to ask him what size the bolts are? A stupid little thing like this has held up my installed for days now. And yes I have tried to match bolts to the flange.

Thanks...

I would use the highest quality I could for those bolts. Also, the Threadlocker Red is the highest temp I believe is available, someone correct me if I am wrong. I think it goes to 550C.

I believe the problem is everyone is trying to use metric bolts. The turbo flange is SAE threaded. I believe they are 7/16 diameter fine thread; I found the bolts in about 2 minutes at the local ACE hardware.

well i dunno but at least it shows we need washers, just trying to help! SHEESH!!!!!

lucas<-- runs in his room and starts crying...

oh btw i though this might help the mystery a little seeing as they used washers cause maybe the length of the bolt was too long,(maybe thats the only one that works, who knows?) btw geoff was the one that put that guys turbo kit on the 99 si so out w/ the info geoff!

7/16" is almost half and inch. that is way too big. i have not be looking at metric, i realized it was SAE just cant find that thread pattern. i will give ace a shot though, thanks...

hey Geoff, is it worth getting a machine shop to cut those expansion slits you missed on my manifold. Have you had any warping problems without them?

I have not been able to get to the shop in 2 weeks now. I will be there all day friday, however. Any unresolved questions will be answered then.
