Many clouds of smoke..........white that is
Ok guys...motor was dropped in 5 months ago. I replaced everything including water pump, oil pump to type r, changed all gaskets and it ran great!!
I got my turbo installed yesterday and dyno tuned it just today. Numbers aren't the greatest and we suspect that I got a fake set of type r cams (which I will confirm), but I know I checked it to see if they match the pictures and from what I remember it matched a 01 ITR.
Anyways, on my way home from tune my car keeps getting really hot. This is 11PM at night when it is cold outside. Fal fan was changed from pull to push due to space. Not sure what I can do to fix that, but when I was close to home I did a hard pull on 2nd gear and a loud boom and then a VERY THICK CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE!!! Car following me could not see through. Car died soon after.... Cruised it into a parking lot for inspection.
Upon inspection slight leak near the oil pan gasket but thing else major. All looks in tack? Could I have blown a head gasket already? What causes a blown head gasket? It was just replaced not too long ago. Coolant was just topped off when we left dyno session. Oil was half way. I will do compression test tomorrow and hope its nothing major. I tried to crank it and it would crank but not start.
Bummmeddd out now.........
Any other suggestions on what could have caused it?

Re: (Urugly)
Do a compression test and let us know what you find. My guess is you melted a piston maybe? Bad gas? Poor tune?
There are a lot of things that could have caused this. You could have even dropped a valve or something. It's hard to tell without doing a compression test first off.
Either way, that really sucks. Good luck.
