Default Manley H beam Pics with Eagle

I have seen a lack of info and pics on the manley h beams. I got a set for a build im doing and i thought I would get some actual product pics posted since manley doesnt even have pics of them for viewing. B18A/B with 3/8 arp2000 bolts.(same spec eagle rod)

Small end is a bit beefier, manley on the right

Wow, great comparison! Do the rods feel beefier to you? Are they made out of the same material? They look very similar by sight... but that doesnt always mean everything.

they look to be machined a lot more accuratly across the whole rod, such as the edges, they are all smooth cut. I had bad light available and very low battery, maybe i can get a bunch more pics this weekend. the sides of the big end seem to be machined that meet the crank journal walls, they are made of out of the same 4340 i think. they do feel a little beefier but in the package they actually write on each rods box the weight of the big and small ends, which add up to similar weights of eagels.

considering they are more than double the cost of the H beams, i would sure hope so but this thread is NOT about the turbo tuff series rods. There is no relevance to your statement.

the rods ran me about 330$ shipped.

cool... thanks for the comparison.. I always was under the assumption that all h beams were pretty much the same (manley, eagle, scat,tt's)

so you think the manleys seem a bit better quality?

I am running these rods too. I thought they were the same exact rod as an eagle. I never even put them side by side. My motor hasent broke yet!

I got them off of yoparts for like 278+shipping.

where are they $250 shipped?

We actually sell quite allot of these compared to Eagle's and they are made in the same foundry as the Turbo Tuff's

Random guy = Me
The rods are very nice. I measured the big end ID and there was less than .0001" of deviation.

how much difference does the extra rib on the eagles make. You can see what i am talking about on the cap and on both sides of the rod. I would think it would add strength.

Great comparo. In for more info.

Let's put things in context.. both imho are great rods especially for the value.. As far as strength goes I would have to give Manley the benefit of the doubt as far as looking at their history w/ Turbo Tuff's etc I'm sure they did their homework..

I am running Manley Turbo Tuffs and love em, I have several friends using the Manley I beams and they have never failed them either... I would have to agree when you say they did their homework...

On a similar note, my eagle I beams in my old sleeved B16 are still going strong too in another car...
