Default which manifold to use.......with dyno proof!

I dont like this "I swear by this product" stuff. could someone recoomend a mani that they have saw personal gains from when used in their car?

I have been looking at this OBX manifold on ebay that is like $400 it looks awsome, but probably works just as good as any $200 one but I need someone with experience to tell me about this.

Thanks.

This has become a touchy subject with people spending $1-2k on manifolds from some companies these days.

There will be a lot of bias on this topic.

I have personally watched the Full race video where their manifold makes substantially more horsepower than a log style mani.

The dyno is shown in the video - you've probably already seen it.

I thought about buying the OBX one for a long time before I decided I didn't trust the company and had mine custom made. While I never heard, or saw a review of THE NEW STYLE OBX manifold - I still couldn't get myself to buy it.

Once you're almost $8,000 into a setup. . . what's another $200 or so for peace of mind

Good luck getting hard facts on the mani debate. It would be interesting to see a side by side by side by side from all of the top companies.

But even still - different mani's perform better with different turbo's, on differnt displacement motors, blah blah, etc etc variables variables. Impossible debate.

I put down 410hp on 24 psi with an inline pro manifold (log style) on my b16. On a dyno pack dyno.

I swapped the manifold with no other changes, and made 445 on 22 psi on a dyno jet.

The reason I list the dyno is becasue the dyno pack normally puts out a few more hp based on how it's set up.

Good luck with your set up.

If you can't afford a full-race "Style manifold". I would recommend the inline pro.

Word! But in the world of turbo manifolds... just do some searching look at other peoples set-ups and make a personal decision because all you are going to get is biased responses...

I made about 380whp (dyno chart pictured is with a slipping clutch, we got a bit more out of it after I replaced the clutch, but I don't have a copy of that dyno printout) on a B16 with a GT28RS, which is pretty amazing for that small of a turbo. I was using a Lovefab SST, and I highly recommend Cody's work to anyone, as you will not be disapponted with the quality/workmanship, and he stands behind his product. Actually I'll probably be selling that manifold/downpipe setup next week, as I'm going N/A, so keep an eye on the classifieds if you want a good manifold.

More fun dyno charts, here's a GT3071R at about 20 PSI on my engine with a InlinePro cast stainless steel manifold and a Camp1320 2.5" downpipe:

Here is the same turbo, same PSI, same engine, same tuner, but with the Lovefab SST with a Lovefab 3" downpipe (this setup also clears my A/C compressor):

I think a good manifold with a well made collector makes a difference.
