The T-bird turbo uses a standard T3 turbine housing so it will bolt up to a DRAG or any any other manifold that uses the same style housing. The T3 used on the T-bird came with an internal flapper style wastegate, but it can be removed and replaced by an external gate.

I'm pretty sure a custom downpipe will have to be made because the Drag/RH kits use different turbos with different exhaust housings. But that's nothing a reputable shop can't handle.
Secondly, to run an external WG...you'll have to weld your internal WG flapper shut. The Drag/RH manifolds already have the external WG flange.

Assuming you receive your T3 with the internal wastegate (some remanufacturers don't include the gate but a junk yard will), it is very simple to remove. Just remove the actuator canister from the compressor housing (2 bolts) and the downpipe casting on the exhaust housing (5 bolts). That's it, since the internal flapper is actually part of the downpipe casting and not the exhaust housing. You will need (1) new clamp for the compressor housing if you remove the internal gate because the actuator canister is welded to a clamp. The DRAG and rh downpipes will bolt onto the the T-bird exhaust housing since both kits use turbonetics turbos which use ford style exhaust housings.
