Major Tech Edge issues. Not happy at all.

Default Major Tech Edge issues. Not happy at all.

First off, I built 2 2AO's back before 05. Both worked fine although I never checked them against other devices. One 2AO just randomly quit working and won't reflash or rescue reflash. I decided ok I will buy the 2Y. The kit is garbage! You should see the instructions and the board layout does not even match my board!
My buddy and I spent the course of 12 hours assembling the 2Y double and triple checking everything. Resistors, capacitors, etc. Jumping around on their very confusing website and following 2 different manuals. We applied power and the board started smoking! Followed everything to a T even though the instructions are all over. I'm sending both units back but I don't expect much after all the things I have read about Tech Edge. Peter if you are on here chime in. You guys should have never shipped the 2y's with the OLD instructions on your website.. And now you say NEW instructions are up? I checked my board revision, images, etc. Anybody else have issues with tech edge? I bought an innovate and won't be looking back.. Thanks.

Here is what Peter wrote me after I posted this. Even though I HIGHLY doubt the 2y is fixable. He should be able to tell from both units that my skills are adequate.

Offering a DIY kit was always going to be a double edged sword - some
people will have no problems (and you're the greatest company on
earth), and others will have a simple problem they can't diagnose (and
you're the worlds worst company!). Our competitors also have an
advantage in that they can criticise an aspect of quality control that
we have no control over (that is - our purchasers
construction/diagnostic skills).

Here's what we'll do when we get your units:

1. We'll look at them both and report back,

2. fix them if they are fixable within an hour or so,

3. take some photos which we reserve the right
to publish in relation to specific problems
constructors may have, and,

4. we'll return them to you by whatever means you prefer.

How does that sound? Your only cost is postage/shipping.
