Machine shops in Texas for CRVTEC????
Hello all, I live in SA. TX and I was wondering if any one out there would know a machine shop that I could trust because I do not trust anyone in SA. Im looking for a machine shop that will do a clean good job on a b20vtec set up...

Now don't quote me on this, but I do know of one guy that builds LS/VTEC and B20/VTEC motors...good old Tyrone up here in Austin. This is of course the going word as I know he is responsible for a nice B20/VTEC EG hatch here in town.

Are you looking for someone to assemble the whole block and dyno tune for you or just do the machine work. For just machine work try Duffin. For the whole Jim Johnson, go Kendrick. However, I know Duffin is good for the machine work. The local dealerships send their work to them. Kendrick has their own dyno room which will help you out in the tuning department. Outside of the machine work, the rest is easy-time consuming, but easy. I have a ls/vtec I'm about to boost, just gotta find time to assemble and weld exhaust and ic piping. HTH
Oh yeah, Duffin also does Headwork. Wanted 500 and told me to expect around 15-20 percent increase in peak power. I didn't take them up on it. I think the turbo will supply me with enough ponies

Duffin did the previous head work and they did a great job. The Hondata tunnig I will do on the car but I think he is looking for a reputable place to have it built.

for Duffin. They can assemble a custom engine, but naturally the customer will have to tell them EXACTLY what he wants. ie what type of clearances (mains, rods, piston to wall, etc), valve cut, valve material/ coatings, etc. Their machinist is very good. We used them for some other work besides auto, but ended up going to Texas Tool-they are pretty much the best in town, but pricey.

Duffin did my GSR head when the nitrous went wrong. Good guys.
But, I had my LSVTEC machine work done at Kendricks. They are awesome guys and are VERY fair on price. Their machining is top knotch.

What about PYR out of houston? Anybody ever have work done there...
I had them port my TB to 64mm. despite them saying it would take 2 days, it took like a week and a half (so I had no car). Then Peter would say it was shipped when it wasn't. I dont' like liars. Also, no one can be Kendricks pricing on maching work. PYR would have to contract that work out anyway, since they don't have the hundreds of of thousands of dollars of machines.
