Hey guys...need another opinion. How many of you have had experience with any of the various LSD setups available for a GSR swap? Which is the best? My mechanic has the Phantom Grip setup on his drag car....but doesn't like it. What do you guys think?

 

The Phantom Grip is not a true LSD, since it's just some plates that bolt in to lock the spider gears. You can get an ITR or a CTR tranny, both of which come with the OEM Honda gear-type LSD. The Quaiffe LSD's are also gear-type, and will hold more power than the OEM Honda ones. Kaaz, Spoon, Mugen, and Cusco make gear-type LSD's which are strong, but rely on friction discs to lock the differential, and need to be rebuilt when the discs are worn.

 

Ive heard good things about quaiffe and kazz!! im debating which to get for mine too!

 

get quaife....I never regretted getting one....one of the top best things I ever add on to my car...

The Quaiffe is pretty much maintenance-free. The Kaaz is beefier, but requires rebuilding when it gets worn. The Kaaz costs a little more than the Quaiffe.
