Default ls vtec turbo, vtec pressure?

here is the deal.
setup is ls vtec turbo with gsr camsand a b16head.
i tried 3 different vtec soleniods and have vtec wired up the same way the previos motor was and it worked great(previous motor was stock internal ls vtec turbo)
now i have a garrett .60 trim
oil pressure is 80-85psi at 4000rpms and steady
when it hits the rpm vtec activates at oil pressure drops to 60psi but i cannot hear or feel vtec at all...
im running open downpipe still so i could deff. hear and feel it in the old motor.
i can start the car and at idle if i hook the vtec solenoid up to a constant 12v i hear a click noise but it isnt very loud.

i tried the same thing in my hatch(d series mini me) and it had a loud click and car shut off(too much air i guess)

any help here?

Does it start to idle very badly when you hook the 12v to the vtec solenoid? Can you check the oil pressure from the plug in front of the vtec solenoid on the head? You should get pressure there after the vtec solenoid opens.

well i pulled the valve cover off and on the inside of the head with it running oil was coming out of a hole in the head beside the vtec solenoid and when i hooked it up oil shot out way harder...
this hole except on the inside of the head

The plug is a 10mm bolt head and points toward the front of the car right beside the vtec solenoid.

Honestly it sounds like maybe there are 1 or more pins that engage the vtec rockers that may be missing. You may try air checking that plug in the front with the valve cover off see if your loosing a lot of air at one of the rockers.
