Default Ls Vtec turbo build help!

Im almost done with my build. Its a darton b18a sleeved block with cp 9.1 cr pistons eagle rods, ls crank, acl bearings. Stock p30 head with itr cams. I bought my headgasket already and i already have a sandwich plate already. This is my first ls vtec build. The machine shop already tapped the head so now what else do i need to have a fully working ls vtec. Do i just need the oil line going from the head to the sandwich plate? and what about dowel pins?

I took the block to the machine shop. Had the block honed, checked all the clearances for the acl bearings n all that, line honed, cleaned. They polished the crank also. Thats what they did with the block and right now my friend is assembling it. I bought a brand new b16 water pump im going to re use my b16 timing belt cuz its not even that old and re use the ls oil pump.

Also i used a cometic 81.5mm b16 headgasket for the ls vtec build. Will the vtec headgasket work fine with the setup? Ive seen people use the golden eagle vtec gasket n its fine. what about cometic vtec gaskets?

This shouldn't be in the FI section....

Ditch the comjunk gasket, get a golden eagle with proper ls/v dowel pins.

Get a vtec oil pump, you need it, the LS pump sucks.

You need an LS t-belt, the B16 one is too short.

You should use arp head studs.

No not a B16 oil pump they are the same as the old LS pumps you want a P72 oil pump from a GSR or a Type R. You also need to use a B18A1 head gasket go OEM Cometic sucks they are known to fail. You will need and oil line for the Vtec head. And yes you should get ARP head studs you need them for a GSR and ARP rod bolts. A GSR water pump and timing belt.

I got arp everything. Mains, head studs, rod bolts. Ive been told all 96+ oil pumps are all the same. I already bought my b16 water pump. and getting the oil pump and gsr timing belt all 2marrow. I might just get the goldeneagle kit and sell my cometic

Everybody I've talked to (including guys who been doing this for years) say to use a vtec head gasket. That's what I used. Golden eagle lsvtec dowels work nicely and can be picked up fairly cheap

I am currently using an OEM B16 head gasket on my LS/VTEC. I would never use anything else. This is with GE dowel pins, an 81.5mm bore and GSR ARP headstuds. Beat the crap out of it every time I drive it, making over 500whp on stock sleeves.

I have used the Cometic headgaskets on my H22 builds previously, and never had a problem with them, but I prefer the OEM gasket if I can use one.

It doesn't matter what brand you use for the dowel pins or the HG, they will fit. If you use a vtec HG, it doesn't need to be drilled for the dowels. I used an OEM HG and GE dowels (came with my lsvtec sandwhich plate kit)

Please stop this myth already. You match the head gasket to the block you are using. I have done 1 or 2 LS Vtec and always use LS head gakets. If you use a Vtec head gasket there is the oil supply hole for Vtec that is now not needed, this will cause a coolant/oil leak at the back of the head. LS head gasket goes on with no modification for use with LS Vtec with LS Vtec dowel pins.
I have seen Vtec head gaskets work fine and I have seen them leak oil and or coolant. I have never seen a LS head gasket leak or have any issues on a LS Vtec.
See this LS Vtec how to. It even says to use a LS gasket

As does this one
