Default LS/V turbo suggestions!

I've been considering goin turbo on my ls/v build, I'm tryna reach the 400hp mark . I would like any suggestions on which head I should use, cams and pistons, compression. also if I would have to sleeve the block or not. also does this sepnd on how much pounds of boost I wanna run?

you can make 400 no prob with stock sleeves...

unless you wanna go alot bigger the following season, its not necessary..
any b16 head will be fine, throw a set of GSR cams in it and be done with it..
low compression is good, something in the 9's is fine for you... Wiseco, CP, Arias pistons, all basically the same, its all personal preference..

check out my LS/V-T thread in my signature...
everything you need to know about my setup.. i made 320 with just some street tuning on a wideband, so with a good tune, 400 was possible with my setup

yesh. well a stock b16 head flows better than a gsr head and gsr cams are pretty good for boost, unless youre looking for power after 8800 or making big power. 15- 20 psi is very vague. you can run 15psi on a t3/t4 and make 300whp, you can run 15psi on a gt42r and make 500whp. get a power goal in mind and budget, then you can orient and plan your build better. use eagle rods as well

^^^ thats the best tip you can give to anyone...

it all depends on what turbo you run.... Shoot for a WHP goal and then see what it will take to get you there..

thats why when pickin a turbo, they dont rate them for psi, they rate them for HP....

Like for instance, i want to make 500-600whp this year... I have a GT35R, i dont have a SWEET clue what PSI its gonna take to get me there, that depends on a lot of things, especially how good the setup is...
so i build a motor to support that kind of power.. and get a turbo that can also support that power, then whatever boost im at when i reach it, thats where im at...

get the idea?

ok I understand so what are good turbo's brands. I wanna stay in the 400 to 500 hp mark. u wouldn't happen to kno an ls block limit would u? like when should I sleeve at wha hp. and is aftermarket cams even nessecary? what bout nos? lets say I'd be happy if my car could do 10's but high 11' low 12,s I'd b satisfied nah mean.

ok, 400-450 is where i would take a stock sleeved b18 to... thats with pistons/rods and head studs... The Rods are typically the weakest link in a b18a/b
I made 320 this year and now for 500 i have a block being sleeved as we speak...
Aftermarket cams arent necessicary at all.. no problem with stock b16 cams, but for the price, the gsr cams are great... the CTR/ITR are the best OEM cam... and the best thing about them is that you dont have to upgrade the rest of your valvetrain to run them...

As for turbo, if you want 4-500, id go with the Garrett GT30R, its kinda pricey but its a great turbo IMO... im goin with the GT35R just cause im goin for more power... Little more lag, but its worth it up top... Stick with garrett and you cant go wrong...

For 400whp u might wanna just look at a Garrett T3/T4, they are half the price of a GT series, and make good power.. just not ball bearing...

As for nitrous.... no point.. spend that extra money on quality turbo gear and you can have that power all the time, instead of just a long as the bottle is full...
Whats the most whp you have had in one of your cars? cause IMO, you would be REALLY happy with 300-350whp startin out till you get used to bigger power...

There, im done..
