LS rods in d16
Hey guys im building my d16's bottom end for my turbo setup. Im only looking to get about 250 hp or so and im thinking of running LS integra rods for alil better strength. I was wondering what all needs to be done with these LS rods to make them work. Also will i be able to reach my goals with these rods and aftermarket pistons. Would shot peening make these stronger and would it be recomended? Any help would be great, and keep in mind im on a poor college students budget. Thanks in advanced

Just run Eagles or PG6 rods (1g teg).
You have to machine the rods to fit, not worth it.

Machine shop fees are pretty cheap. Much less than the price of eagles.

I'm a poor college student too.
I personally wouldn't do a motor build if I was poor, which is why I'm just going to run my stock motor turbo'd until I gradate this May.
Gotta pay to play f00l.

Plenty of people do cheap motor build ups. It will let him do more now, instead of waiting even longer to do ao build. Kinda hurts when I rod goes through the pan..

Thanks Kerr for pointin that out. Yes i wasnt planning on this but i threw a rod through the oil pan of my old setup by reving it too high. So any other opinions as to how these ls rods worked out for them please post

Problem is that crower used to sell the new bushings that you would need to use Dseries pistons on LS rods but they dont any more.. I would just get a set of Eagles..

Re: LS rods in d16 (tgreaves)
yea you can't get the bushings anymore, so even if you machine it nobody makes the custom bushing size. Crower
scat rods are 200, or whatever thoose 200$ eagle wanna be's are will be fine.

Re: LS rods in d16 (menkio)
Alright thanks but what i think im gonna do is get the D16A1 rods (PG6) brand new from this store i found. I hear they are just as strong as the LS rods but fit in the D16 sohc bottom end with no modification. Is this true? Any experiences with them? Any help on this subject would be appreciated...
