Default losing oil

Well, I used to be FI'd, but went back to NA. My problem now is that, my vtec wasn't kicking in properly so I checked the oil, oil was low. Added oil and voila, vtec kicking in at usual point. I have an h22a and after only a week, my vtec was getting wonky again and eventually not kiciking in at all. I chekc the oil again, and no oil. I look to my catch can ( which runs from the breather vlave to a catchcan to a breather filter) I look under it and there's oil all around it.

First of all, would this be my ringlands and if not, what else would it be? I am not pouring out lots of smoke and it doesn't seem to be any coming out when I'm under full acceleration...but I am not 100% certain. Secondly, if it is the ringlands, can I change the just the ringlands and if so, can I do this while leaving the engine in the car or do I have to take it out?

Ringland are part of the pistons. Yes you can leave the block in the car but you have to remove the head and oil pan and rods and whatnot. It is better to pull the block and have it machined but it may not have to be done. First off you need to find out what the problem is and sorry I could not help you there.
