cars arent supposed to lose coolant. doesnt matter how long it takes to lose the coolant. you're losing the coolant somewhere somehow which I can gaurantee is not a good thing.

pressure test your coolant system and see if you can find a leak.

from my experience, pressure test arent always conclusive especially if it is a very small leak.

the point of the question was to find out the rate at which he is loosing coolant. that could help to determine what the problem might be.
if it's a 1/2 cup every 4 weeks it is way different than 1/2 cup every day.

not saying the pressure test is a bad idea...just saying I also a very small leak in my heater hose and the pressure test showed no sign of it.

well considering we don't know the rate of which he is loosing coolant we don't even know the size of the leak. not to mention any mods that have been done to the car. really leaving out some info...

Its also normal for turbo cars to burn off a little coolant here and there. Just check your oil and coolant levels everyday especially if you have been beating on the car.

it does not lift THAT much but it will lift enough to where coolant can leak past the gasket.

also maybe you just have a blown headgasket.

It doesnt smoke or run bad...and I just did a compression test wouldn't it effect that if the headgasket was blown?

When my headgasket was blown earlier, it didn't burn anything had perfect compression and ran fine until i boosted it. It would fill the resevoir tank and spray all over my engine bay.

that's what i was thinking
i wouldn't stress it till after your tune
if your running on a base map your timing and well everything is a little off
that might be what's causing you to have the slite coolant leek
if you were sohc i would say head studs are a must but your dohc and well i just don't know much about that lol
from my understanding you should be ok with the stock head bolts on 8psi
so what i would do is drive the car like a grandma until you get it tuned.
try your best to stay out of boost and see if it helps.
if so you know what your problem is
